The Good & The Bad
Bad - Faubert out for 6 months with ruptured archilles :( He is off to a top surgeon who has previously operated on the likes of Zidane. Curbs had been wrapped in what he had seen of him.
Good - Keiron Dyer being lined up for 2 mil & pay for play. Some might disagree its good but a few factors make it good to me. 1) Faubert's injury leaves us light. 2) He is speedy, can play either side. 3) 2 mil is fuggin cheap
Bad - Mark Hughes is after Bobby
Good - We are after Nicky Shorey from Reading. Bid of 5 mil in the works.

Lua Lua - Are we trying to build a team from Newcastle rejects? Why didn't Curbs just go for Titus Bramble whilst he was at it FFS? Bobby out & Lua Lua in would weaken the side IMO.

The Zamora story is load of old cobblers I reckon.
Call me picky but I would prefer we gave a wide berth to both Dyer and Lua Lua. Dyer has quality but even for a relatively small fee I don't think the reported 80k in wages would be worth it. Lua Lua I just don't want the club to touch with a bargepole.
As for Shorey, well, I'll believe it when I see it!

Well the writing was on the wall when you guys posted Julien was stretchered off with an achilles. No other injury other than a rupture is probably one of the worst injuries you can get as a footballer, hopefully he can come back 100 from it. Coz by the sounds of it he relies on his explosiveness as a player
On dyer, for 2 mill sounds ok, and is pay as you play a bonus on the amount of games he plays paid to Kieron? if so, that might not be a bad idea IMO, as it might motivate him. Its a fairly low risk strategy.
As for Shorey, not too sure didnt see much of him and 5 mill is a fair bit, but apparently he has a great attitude so he might well be worth it.
Lua Lua is a total enigma. If you can get him very cheap he is worth a punt but we def shouldnt pay big bucks to him
I dont see why we cant scour the argentine league or brazilian leagues for wingers or attacking fullbacks. Especially in brazil, these guys grow on trees im sure we could pick up a fairly good one.
Theres alot of talk about Appiah whos is a brilliant defensive midfielder he would be a great signing if we could get him
I still reckon we should have a crack at Quaresma from Porto if he would come to us.

It's all too complicated. We're going to be an entirely new team and I think I'll just tune out till the transfer window closes then look at the squad list!

Elmander and Bojinov set to sign according to Sky text thats £1.50 a minute.
Highly rated, don't know much about them.
Elmander is a Swedish international striker, big lad, good technique, currently playing for Toulouse and is their star player.
Bojinov is a Juventus Turin Forward

The Upton Park club have made a £12m bid for Roma's Brazilian winger Mancini, have returned to Barcelona with renewed £10m offfrr for striker Eidur Godjohnsen and have tabled a £4m offer for newcastle mdifielder Kieron Dyer.
Mancini, 27, a player with pace who likes to dribble with the ball, was a target for Liverpool before Rafa Benitez signed Israeli Yossi Benayoun from West Ham.
The Brazilian international Manciini, who can also operate as a striker, is caught up a contract dispute with Roma and his stay at the Italian club has been clouded by a row with Francesco Totti.
West Ham made their iniiitial move for former Chelsea forward Gudjohnsen last month but the player was not keen on a move to Upton Park.
Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is a also chasing the player he first managed at Bolton, but Hammers chairman and fellow Icelander Egger Magnusson is a big fan and friends with Gudjohnsens's father - and is prepared to beat any wage. Magnusson is also prepared to sanction an astonishing £100,000-a-week wage to entice England midfielder Dyer away from St. James' Park.
After new £6m signing Julien Faubert was ruled out for six months with a ruptured achielles tendon sustained in a pres-season friendly on Tuesday, the need for reinforcements in the West Ham midfield has become urgent for Alan curbishley.
Mancini, who has been with Roma for four years and was previously with Venezia, can play on either wing and Cubishley beleives he is the player who could give his team width and flair.
Gudjohnsen, meanwhile, would fill the central striking role left by Marlon harewood, who has joined Aston Villa, and Teddy Sheringham, who has chosen to continue his career with COlchester UNited.
Curbishley also wante to sign Reading hull-back Nicky Shoreyand the Hammers are prepared to meet his £60,000-a-week wage demands.
Tevez, meanwhile, hopes to know Monday evening whether FIFA will hear his case against West Ham. That is the day Football ASsociation and Premier league cheifs are scheduled to meet with FIFA officials in Zurich, where the subject of the player's dispute with the club will be discussed.Tevez, West Ham and the Premier league are all keen for FIFA's dispute resolution chamber to decide whether the Argentina striker can complete his proposedf £35m move to Manchester United...
.... If it is decided that FIFA will take on the matter, it is believed the Tevez case could be heard as early as Thursday."

""We have to [determine] what is the role of this company and whether there has been a breach of contract," said the DRC member. "Only then can we decide on any level of compensation."
Methinks that will be the likely outcome. FIFA will indicate how much compensation should be directed the way of MSI and we will get the rest of the transfer fee.
You can't just terminate an agreement without the consent of the other party and not compensate them for their economic loss no matter how shady and dodgy they are.
