Hate-meter goes up a notch...
The FA has announced a new "cash for points" scheme for the upcoming Premiership season.
Well, they might as well. It looks like Chelsea and Spurs have come to an "undisclosed agreement" about the Arnesen scandal. Spurs get in the vicinity of £4 million, and Chelsea get off the hook.
What kind of scumbag arrangement is this? Break the rules, and buy your way out?
Chelsea have behaved abysmally of late. Spurs have acted almost as poorly by negotiating this cash deal instead of lodging a complaint.
If Spurs hadn't agreed to this, Chelsea might have been docked points in the upcoming Premiership season. But cash means more to both these clubs than honour.

I think it's unlikely that Chelsea would have been deducted points if they had been found guilty of this offence. I'm pretty sure their suspended sentence was dependant on them commiting the same offence again (Rule K3) which is specific to tapping up players..

That is true, but if they had been found guilty of another offence the punishment may have been harsher.
