Curbs Hired!!
In the fastest turn around of management I've ever seen Alan Curbishly has been hired as West Ham boss. I think this is the right decision. Thoughts please...

Well TBH I think we'll still struggle but we might be better off now with the players like NRC knowing that they can't just ride the tide any more.

c+p from KUMB
"I was really shocked after those two games, first against Wigan and then Bolton," said Magnusson. "It was not the results but more the way the team was playing, the lack of motivation. It's a very important time; we have five matches until New Years Day, we have the January window coming up and I know that I had to make a very difficult decision. I took that decision, and it was very tough as it always is in matters like this - but I did it in the best interests of this club, and that is the result."
Hard to argue with that.

2 Games??? I agree that the last 2 matches we were torrid but thats happened to us on a few occasions. Just remember the match b4 against Everton we played well and things could be very different

I'm happy. I was on record as saying I didn't think AP had the managerial reportoire to get us out of the deep shite we were in.
As Dave said Curbs extracted the maximum out of Charlton as evidenced by the fact they are now at the bottom.
My concern is that AC will adopt a different style to what he did at Charlton..although short term we are unlikely to see anything with too much flair as relegation scrapping doesn't allow it really...
I'm happy it was done and dusted so quickly too...we saw how the team responded to the uncertainty of a protracted takeover.
This way the diversion, while major, was over quickly and we can get back to the job at hand...

I think Pards was very unlucky not to have had Ashton at his disposal. It could've been very different for him if he did.
Full support for Curbs now though. We must get out of this and fast. It will be very interesting to see how the players react.

I hope this change of manager works!
You would have thought that the change of ownership and cash being available in January would have made the players pull their fingers out of their arses and perform for fear of losing their place in the side.
Fair enough, AC might save us from relegation, but where do we go from there?
Is this squad good enough to compete in the Premiership or are we kidding ourselves?
AP was being touted as one of the best young managers in the business and a future England manager. If they couldn't perform for him, why are they going to perform for AC?
Was last year just a dream? (A wet one at that.)
Why is being a Hammer fan so difficult?
I'm confused.

This was the safest move Eggy could have made IMO. Get an English manager who knows the PL, born and bred east end boy and WEST HAM through and through. If it had to happen and it's a bloody shame it did, this is the right move, at least in the short term.
It's happened now so I hope all get behind him and the team and give them our full support, the lads are gonna need it. This is all about survival and I think he'll steady the ship. Pls God.
CURBISHLEYS CLARET AND BLUE ARMY!!!!!!
Alan Curbishleys claret and blue army seems a mouthful?
C'mon Manure, let's be 'avin ya!!!

According to BBC, Magnusson actually wanted to sign Curbs as manger before he sacked pardew.
"West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson has admitted that he wanted Alan Curbishley to be the new manager before he sacked Alan Pardew."

Les Reed just signed a new contract so I doubt Pards will go there.
He won't struggle to find a job in the PL anyway.
Reports today also said that at West Ham's xmas party on tuesday the DJ wanted to say a few words about Alan Pardew and Nigel Reo-Coker, Ferdinand, Cole and Elliot Ward jeered.
Cunts
Also Masch and Tevez didnt go

That just goes ot prove that AP didn't have the full support of the team. it wasn't him who needed to be sacked, and this disrespect and attitude proves that the players had a hand in gettin him sacked.

In a way I can understand Cole and Ward but Anton and Reo-Coker???
Pardew stuck with Reo-coker this season when he should have been dropped.
Thinking back I can also remember the loan players we got last season - They said Pards promised them 1st team football and didnt give it to them. At the time I thought the french fucks were lying but now I think it could be true.

From the press conference :-
"I did think about the way I go about things and perhaps I may have to be a little bit different here, I don't know in that respect. But what I do know is that it's about results. "
is that him saying he will have to play more attractive football here than at Charlton (while also acknowledging it's about results). Or am I reading too much into that comment?

Irony: Kind Of Like Iron
Mediawatch has never been entirely au fait with the standard definition of irony, which seems to confuse too many people.
Our usual technique, which you're welcome to borrow, is to compare all claims of things being 'ironic' with the indisputable irony of Kiss' cover of the Ramones classic 'Rock N Roll Radio' being one of the most wonderful pieces of music ever, despite that song being written to express dissatisfaction at the dominance of stadium-rock bands like, you've guessed it, Kiss.
With a brother so involved with the music industry - the manager of The Who, no less - you might expect Alan Curbishley to be aware of that little rule of thumb. And so you'd be even more surprised to hear the following quotes from football's most boring man at his first press conference as West Ham manager:
"It's ironic that my two clubs, Charlton and West Ham, have both made changes early in the season."
"It's ironic that my first game is against Manchester United, my last game as Charlton manager."
"It's ironic that it's my two former clubs who've chosen to do things."
No. It. Isn't.

OK, it's a bit old, but here it is in more detail.
Buck up, or fuck off, guys:
Rumour Of The Day
'Drunk West Ham players mocked ex-boss Alan Pardew, romped with scantily-clad girls and scuffled at their Christmas party to shatter claims of being devastated by his sacking...The jibe at Pardew came as the club DJ grabbed a microphone from defender Anton Ferdinand and proposed a toast to the departed Upton Park boss. Ferdinand, Reo-Coker, Carlton Cole and old team-mate Elliot Ward all responded by booing and jeering loudly, then rolling around laughing...Things turned nasty at around 1am when Hayden Mullins was caught up in a scuffle and was bundled out of an emergency exit by security guards before being told not to come back' - The Daily Mirror, which also reports that Anton Ferdinand ended up smooching with Aisleyne from Big Brother. Now that would be an ugly baby.

I know it's rumour and unconfirmed, but *if* it's been reported accurately then it well pisses me off especially with regard to NRC. His poor performances have contributed in no small part towards Pardews sacking and our league position. Obviously he doesn't get that...he thinks it's down to Pardew.
This is our captain FFS, carrying on like that in front of a room full of people. No wonder we are in deep shite if that's the attitude of the captain. It's not a stretch to conclude that he may have been undermining AP at every opportunity if that was his opinion.
If its true and AC knows all about it, I'd bench at least NRC (and strip him of the captaincy) and tell the jumped up little cunt that he has to *earn* his way back into the team. Better yet, tell him his form isn't up to the prem and send him out on loan to some shit hole.
