Souness In West Ham Link
The Sunday People in the UK are linking Graeme Souness with West Ham here: http://www.westham.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=53562
I can't stand Souness. evil, evil man but he would certainly motivate the players.
Methinks he would terrify most of them!
This is almost definately just bullshit paper talk but what if it were true?
I dunno if I could support West Ham under Souness, what about you lot?

If Eggy appoints Sourpuss then he really has no clue and we are doomed for all eternity.
Sourpuss has no redeeming features, neither as a human being nor a football club manager, whatsoever.
Roeder’s relative success at Newcastle is testament to his complete inability to manage a football team.
Lord help us.

In the Losers column again.
Alan Curbishley and West Ham
Only the defeatism that has become the hallmark of Alan Curbishley's disastrous reign at West Ham can be saving him from the sack. Chairman Eggert Magnusson, sinking ever deeper into his seat, has probably realised that, barring the Second Coming, it's now too late for anyone to save West Ham.
The dreaded vote of confidence was delivered late on Saturday night. The good news for Curbishley, who palpably does not possess the stomach for this relegation battle, is that only ten days elapsed between Magnusson's last managerial endorsement and predecessor Alan Pardew being dismissed.
Although Curbishley should not carry the blame for the Hammers' plight, it is a statistical fact that they have declined under his guidance. Whereas Pardew has brought energy and belief to Charlton, Curbishley has offered only doom, gloom and failed signings. Calum Davenport was repeatedly exposed at the Valley while the £5m Luis Boa Morte didn't even make the bench.
Curbishley was the wrong manager at the wrong time. West Ham needed a street fighter and a ball breaker. Instead they hired a hangdog pacifist whose unfamiliarity with an open chequebook meant that Hammers' last roll of the dice ended with a series of duds.
It's only down from here.

See beex - I told you sticking by Curbs was the right option.
This is certainly not true - I hope! The fans would linch eggy if Souness came anywhere near the club - the fact that Roeder is doing a better job than him at Newcastle should be enough evidence.
This is disgusting and I hope there's no truth in it. There's gonna be hundreds of new manager links over the coming weeks.

No one could motivate the shower of useless plonkers we have at the moment, not even scary Souness. My cousin is a Leeds fan (having a worse season thanus,God help them), who can't stand Wise and no longer likes supporting them with him in charge. i would certainly feel the same if Souness got the helm at our club.

This is bullshit. Souness has been proven to be a very average manager and ill tempered to say the least and would never fit in at West Ham. This will never happen.

I sincerely hope that Souness is not heading our way. It would be a disaster.
We will get relegated dont worry about that, its a certainty, however, the club will now faces a dilemma in that Curbishley is probably the perfect manager for the championship. Should we sack him or keep him with the hope we will be back.
His signings from the beginning were always duds and were only ever going to be, we needed a clinical striker, yet we overpayed for the enigma that is Boa Morte, Davenport is rubbish, Neill would be a great central defender in a slower league but really is a decent fullback in the premier league, and Quashie well what does he add?
The season was doomed from the begging and somehow our great managers couldnt incorporate a world-class defensive centre midfielder and a forward in tevez that has been dominant in every comp he has played in so far into the team. Add to that half the squad though they had 'made' it and here we are being relegated.
we are in massive trouble and i hope that eggie doesnt just spend his way out of it, buy the right players for the team and the challenges they will face and for the football you want to play.
For the amount of money the team spent it was wasted on average footballers when it could have been better spent on up and coming talents or proven continental players. I dont know the level of players that would be interested but when Real Madrid buys a player like Higuain for 7 million pounds or so, Obafemi Martins signs for 10 million punds, and we are bidding 18 million pounds for Darren Bent, there is something seriously wrong. Our transfer policy stinks, and dont get me started on the 7.5 million on Upson, yes he is a good defender, but for that type of money you could get close to a world class defender. Ridiculous waste of money.

If you want to spend money, you need a proven manager to spend it.
Besides, which world class players are going to want to play for Alan Curbishley?
Lucas Neill will leave, there's no way he'll play in the Championship. I'm sure he also thought the club would do better than Davenport, Boa Morte and Quashie in the transfer window.
WHU is now unfortunately a laughing stock.

Hammers Go XL
The Times is carrying the story that West Ham have signed a shirt sponsorship deal with XL, a charter airline with links to Iceland. It begins from the start of next season. XL will pay the Barclays Premiership club about £2.5 million a season, more than three times the value of their present deal with Jobserve.
It is thought that there are contingencies in the highly likely event that the club are relegated at the end of the season. The deal follows an announcement last October that Umbro will be our new kit manufacturers from next season. XL, formerly known as Excel Airways, claim to be the fifth largest holiday company in the United Kingdom. The company has an annual turnover of more than £1 billion.
