Adelaide Hammers - Hammers vs Arsenal - New Venue!
We have secured a new venue that will be showing Hammers games whenever they are on.We will be getting together for the Arsenal game on the 29th Sept at the Strathmore Hotel, North Terrace (opposite casino),will be there from 9.30pm, so as this is our first get together in our new venue would really like to see all the Adelaide Hammers attend to show the Strathmore that this is a beneficial decision.

Actually it's all a bit quiet full stop. I must admit I'm partly to blame for not even acknowledging that we played a game at the weekend let alone putting up a report. I think I was a bit dispondent after the result.

Im still hopefull Beggers for a good turnout as its our first get together.Have received a couple of emails from people that cant make it,but to be honest am a little worried of a poor showing.We have a larger amount of younger Hammers fans over here so am just hoping that they will rock up on the night.Have given out this site to most over here and told them to keep an eye out, as all the Adelaide Hammers info is on here plus ahve sent them all emails.Will let you all know how it goes on Saturday night. CMON U HAMMERS.

Well Dave to say i was disappointed would really be an understatement.Including me there was 3 of us,yes you read it right.I am being optimistic here but am going to believe that this was due to the AFL Grand Final and it being a long weekend.The management staff at the Strathmore was excellent about it and seemed to understand.The area that they have set aside for us is excellent,we ahve a large Plasma tv (loud volume)and three paces to the bar it doesnt get much better than that.We are going to try to see if we can get in there for the Villa game (they are committed to the Rugby World Cup).If we get no response to our next get together (whenever it will be)we will have to review the situation here in Adelaide.A disappointe Paul here in Adelaide.

How many Email addresses do you have? Maybe send something out to try and rally them up and say how disappointed you are with the lack of numbers.

We have about 20 email addresses and we know that a few others keep an eye on this site for the upcoming venues. We did email all 20 and only 3 said said they couldnt make it so assumed the others were coming. How wrong was we!

Fuck me Paul, gutted with the turn out. You'll have to get the lads to confirm who's coming or not next time. Don't need shit surprises like that. Alternatively you could move up to sunny Queensland ;)

I've got 70 emails and of those only 20 or 30 turn up so I have 40 or 50 not reply and don't come most weeks so 17 is no real suprise really.
All I can suggest is you appeal for numbers and say you've been dissapointed with recent turnouts.

Just to add - it takes time to build up also mate - a couple of years ago Me & Tony would sometimes be the only ones rock up now we're 20 to 30 each week.
