Shit Ground No Beer
Great Result, 3-0 away with 2 to Matty and 1 to Bellamy...all quality goals.
Due to unjuries we had a bit of a make-do midfield that included none of the new signings....bowyer, mullins, noble, matty but they were superb and as Risky said we could have had 10.
Before the game Reading sent a letter to the club saying that no standing would be strictly enforced and due to our behaviour in that regard last year, no beer would be available to away fans. I laughed out loud when I heard the fans singing 'Shit Ground, No Beer'.
Bellamy's pace gives us so many opportunities that we have not had in recent times.
Matty is really starting to grow in confidence and who's to say it is not competition for his spot that has caused his dramatic improvement? His two goals were top shelf and he could have had more.
Ashton started but looked a little off the pace, more so than against Wigan last week. But it is time under his belt that was badly needed.
I thought Carlton Cole was quite lively when he came on. Let's not forget he hasn't had much match time either...
Green's penalty save was class. To be honest he should have had a 2nd booking for the challenge and not even been there to save it but luck's a fortune. He was clearly not 100% towards the end and I think Curbs should have subbed him to be safe.
Green, McCartney, Anton, Upson, Neill, Matty, Mullins, Noble, Bowyer (Spector 81), Bellamy (LBM 90), Ashton (Cole 64). Subs Not used Wright, Gabbidon.
7 points from 12 (7 from out last 9) is a good return given the injury situation (some might say crisis!)
We now have a fortnight to work on the walking wounded...Parker should be back and both Green & Bellamy will certainly appreciate the break.
Sheffield United went down to scunthorpe, rotflmao.

Teeside Trev if you read this when I try to go to the roosroosroos site I get this message :-
"You are using an Invalid IP to access this site!"
I'm using Virgin's new wireless 3G broadband package which is gonna be fuggin popular.
I'll report it to them, but thought I'd mention it.
Foxtel's EPL on demand website is suggesting my ip is from the UK and therefore can't use their streams...

Very happy and somewhat surprised at the result. Never expect much at Reading. 7 out of 12 points is very encouraging considering our injuries. Seems Curbs has instilled a real "fight for places" atmosphere in the squad which has been long overdue. Matty especially is playing outta his skin at the moment. Bring on the Boro! Might see if I can make it down to the Pig

Munky, wot's Virgin broadband like? I've been looking at swapping to it from Optus. It does VOIP too, am I right?

given I have been stuck with dial ip in an adsl blackspot (pretty fuggin narrow blackspot, my neighbours can get it!) it's pretty damn good :)
$60 month for a phone service with free local and national long distance calls + 4gb of 512/384 wireless net access shaped to 128kb.
You get a fixed line number and whitepages listing...after 30 Sep you can port your number. Then I'll be telling Telstra to ram their stinking landline and never darken my door again.
I get speed test results of up to 700kb.
Downsides - P2P is throttled to 64kb though I have been getting individual torrents up to 20k/sec each ; international calls are expensive and they are actively preventing access to calling cards to make you use their service ; if the service goes down so does your phone though I haven't experienced this and I have a mobile anyway.
Not sure what streaming will be like but with foxtel choice who cares ;-)

VIRGIN mobile's new wireless broadband customers were left without internet services for at least five hours this morning, the company has confirmed.
A spokeswoman for Virgin Mobile said the outage started sometime between 3am and 7am this morning, and was restored at around 8am, an hour after technical staff returned to the carrier's broadband operation centre.
Virgin's technicians were not present to monitor the outage or restore the HSDPA broadband service when it occurred, the company said.
"Virgin Mobile does not have the exact time when the outage occurred on hand at this time," the spokeswoman said.
"From 3am to 7am our call centre is closed as Virgin Mobile does not offer a 24 hour call centre service."
Virgin customers reported major difficulties reconnecting to the service around 8am this morning.
Customers that Australian IT spoke to and who asked not to be named said that it took 20 minutes to login to the service from around 8am today.
Broadband providers are often become overloaded after service outages as customers attempt to reconnect in large numbers.
Virgin's spokeswoman stressed that customers were still able to access the company's VoIP (Voice over IP) landline service during the internet outage.
The company has conceded that it had experienced some "teething problems" with the service which launched late July.
"This is the first broadband HSDPA network so of course we were expecting some teething problems in the early stages," a Virgin Mobile spokeswoman said.

I can't beleive how fickle a couple of you are LMAO - 2 weeks ago curbs was a cunt who didn't know anything.
It was an awesome game and well done curbs. We rode our luck at times but also should've got more goals with the one on ones we had. We won't get that many chances in other games so we need to be more clinical. B+ for performance though!

And a bit more
After struggling with Virgin Mobile's broadband over 3G for a couple of weeks, I discovered a modem tweak that has completely changed my Internet experience.
Virgin Broadband uses mobile phone networks to provide users with an Internet connection and the equivalent of a land-line phone number.
One feature of the service is that, depending on the strength of the signal in the user's area, the modem will switch between three different mobile standards -- GPRS, UMTS and HSDPA.
GPRS is technically 2.5G and offers an experience similar to dial-up. UMTS is starter 3G, providing a slight step up with downlinks of 384Kbps while HSDPA, known as 3.5G, is the most desirable, with a current potential download speed of 3.6Mbps.
This switching feature does have its uses -- when you are in an area outside 3G coverage, the service will drop down to GPRS and still remain connected to the Internet.
However, one issue -- and, after speaking with the tech support team at Virgin, an issue that affects lots of people -- is that the 3G signal is relatively weak inside buildings, causing the modem to stick with a "safe" GPRS link instead of risking a more challenging 3G connection.
On my modem's connection status page, the signal strength floats between -85db and -103db.
I hate GPRS. It makes downloading large files painful and I struggled even using Web sites like Gmail and Facebook -- YouTube was impossible.
An important fact is that a very weak 3G connection is still about six times faster than GPRS, so in most cases it is better to kill the GPRS altogether and force the modem to stick with 3G.
Luckily, Virgin's modems can be set to do just that.
The process takes about one minute and for me, it made a world of difference.
Follow the steps below and see how you go:
Connect to the modem management console (192.168.1.1) and log in.
Make sure the Internet is not currently connected (either press the connect button on the top of the modem or click the disconnect button in the console).
Click on the Connection Settings icon.
Click Network Connections.
Click WAN Cellular.
Click on the Settings button.
Scroll down to "Network Type" and select "UMTS only".
Click the Apply button. When the page reloads press OK.
Now your modem will ignore the GPRS signal so you have to beware of two things.
Firstly, because your modem is now set to ignore GPRS, it will only connect in 3G, which means if your 3G signal is extremely weak, instead of switching to dial-up speeds, the connection will cut out completely.
Secondly, watch those download limits. When my signal was mainly GPRS the amount of bandwidth being used was minimal and it seemed I would never be able to use up my 4GB limit. But with a continuous 3G connection, those megabits just fly through the sky.

I would love him to succeed, seriously, and I'll eat my words and shut up if he does, I promise. At the end of the day I just want West Ham to do well like the rest of us.

beex - how do you measure success?
What about his last 15 games? 11 wins 1 draw 3 losses.
You can go on about his start but man did he inherit some shit. I struggle to see why you think he's a cunt. You slagged him after one game and I told you to give him a chance before complaining and he hasn't lost since - 4 games later. We're currently 11th with every team below us having played an extra game.

Dave, don't you think it's a bit futile this discussion? I don't like Curbs and you do, end of. You think he saved us last year, I don't. I don't believe you should count last year at all now, it's over. He has done well after losing the 1st game and I was very frustrated in the way we lost it. Curbs had a howler of a tactical game against Man City. As I've said on numerous occasions I want him to do well, I just don't rate him. At the end of the day he is our manager and I'll stick by him but that doesn't mean I have to like or rate him, does it?

id have to agree with dave here...i mean the city game was unlucky...bobby finished shit...deano missed some chances that 7 or so game sin would be bread and butter and bellamy was finding his feet...as were the other new signings
i think weve been improving each game and are running and passing like old...the teams jelling and i think curbs can take a fair bit of credit for that
as for the signings im happy with em...tons of experience and talent...at the 11th hour we got a good bench striker...im happy
(sorry about the rant)

I wouldn't say I like him you don't. The jury is out for me on curbs but I don't think it warrants slagging him off every time we lose. All I was saying is his current record isn't too bad. You say you'll stick by him but I'm at a loss to understand how saying he's a cunt is sticking by him.
Anyway my original comment was not specifically directed at you and you challenged me on the issue so I'm not sure why you're telling me the discussion is futile. As munky said though you did give him a pretty good wrap in this thread ;-)
Things could always be worse mate - we could have McClaren as manager and have signed Emile Hesky.
Hope you make it to the pig - will be nice to see you. :-)

I admit calling him a cunt is too harsh. Call it a gut reaction from the 1st game. I've been quite nice to him since. Hope to see you at The Pig mate. I'll be in my new "I Love Curbs" T-Shirt so you won't miss me :p
