TAXI!
You're not gunna believe this one. Fabien Barthez.
Yes, rumours say that the bald French geezer is hailing a taxi all the way to England, and possibly Upton Park. He's been banned from France for the rest of the year after spitting at a ref, but that doesn't stop him from playing elsewhere. Probably as a loan, which suits us since heroic Jimmy should be back in action by the time he goes back.
I reckon he'd be a real coup. He was the closest ManUre ever got to a replacement for the Great Dane. He's prone to errors in big matches but so was DJ and we got on fine with him - and I reckon Barthez is more consistent. He's still a good age for a keeper too (33).
It will be interesting to see what the fans think.
Yet another rumour is Derby's Polish striker Grzegorz Rasiak, who I won't pretend I know anything about.
