Konchabbidollins
West Ham look certain to sign Charlton's Paul Konchesky, and are likely to bring in Cardiff pair Danny Gabbidon and James Collins.
The Irons await Konchesky's medical before the 24-year-old left-back/midfielder joins the squad, for a touted fee of around £2 million. Meanwhile rumours about Gabbidon and Collins are getting stronger, with the club supposedly in talks with the two defenders. The fee for the pair is probably also around £2 million.
If it's all true, then it looks like Konchesky will be our first choice left-back, with Powell as backup for the position. Pardew will also have the option of moving Konchesky to midfield as a replacement for Etherington if injured or out of form. If the Cardiff pair sign, then Pardew will have an interesting "problem" for the central defensive pairing, with choice between Dailly, Ferdinand, Ward, Gabbidon, Collins, and Repka. It's possible that Dailly (or Ferdinand) could even play in a defensive midfield position in tough games such as Arsenal away.
