Dean Ashton out for 12 weeks!
Dean Ashton will be out of action until at least mid-November after breaking his ankle in training with the England squad overnight. The star striker was set to make his England debut against Greece at Old Trafford and was looking fit and ready for his first full season with West Ham.
Alan Pardew told the club's official website: "We are absolutely devastated. It's a massive blow for Deano and his family, and for everybody here at West Ham United. We are extremely disappointed by the news but, on a positive note, we still have four quality strikers at this club, which will suppress the blow somewhat. We look forward to a speedy recovery from Deano and hope to see him back in action very soon."
We can only hope that the other strikers can fill the void for these long three months - and pray that nobody else gets injured.
