Match Prediction: Blackburn
This is it now - do or die time for Alan Pardew. I really want the team to win Sunday and Alan to keep his job as I think last season's acheivements were fantastic and it has been a combination of bad luck and lack of confidence that has seen West Ham have the worst run in the clubs history. Pardew still has to select the right team at the weekend though and just lately I'm not convinced he's been doing so.
I'm going to stick my neck out and say we will win this one. I keep waiting for us to turn a corner but it doesn't happen. It saddens me and I feel for Alan Pardew who must be going through hell right now. A few players have really let him down of late and they need to stand up and be counted. We need to go out all guns blazing, get the first goal, and just keep at them rather than sit back and hope like we did in the cup midweek.
Keep the faith - Come on You IRONS!!!

Not only do we need to win for the points, but if we can't beat Blackburn at home, then where are out next points and next good performance going to come from?
Arsenal at home
Boro away
Chelsea away
We can't afford to take 0 from 12 points. We at least need to show some promise and urgency this weekend at get 3 points. Under the current circumstances, loses to Arsenal and Chelsea can be tolerated if we show some promise in those two games and take (preferably maximum) points from Blackburn and Boro.
If pardew is to be sacked, then it should be done immediately after Chelsea away and with someone in mind, so they can come in and lift the team to a win over Sheffield United at home. Most teams win for their new manager, so we may as well give him the best possible chance. Would you like to take over just before Chelsea away?

Andy Gray says 'Cocky Players Letting Down Pardew' on Football 365.
If we can just win this weekend... grrr.

If the players were cocky, then they shouldn’t be for this one. No one knows ‘too good to go down’ doesn’t wash, better than us.
I think we’ll win this one.

No score prediction from me guys. To date my predictions have been useless. According to my previous predictions we should have had 27 pts by now and be top of the league!
Pls win.
Beex, apology accepted. And here I was thinking it was me! I bought the new away shorts just after the Liverpool game and it's been all down hill since. Damn you shorts!
WH, We'll smash Le Arse and Chelski mate, why an earth would you think anything else?

IMO Pardew is wrong to keep dropping Yossi - we severely lack flair without him in the side. I hope he plays tomorrow.

I agree Beexie, Control the mid-field, goals will come, as will a clean sheet.
Dave, also agree, can't drop Yossi, easily our best player when he's in the groove? And the only player we have with any real skill who can unlock a defence. He's crucial IMO.
My team for tomorrow would be, given current injuries and the fact that Pards won't drop NRC:
Green
Pants, Anton, Collins, Macca
Yossi, Masher, NRC,Ethers
Tevez, Marlon
I'd put Collins in as he's good in the air and scores the odd goal. Gabbs has been down on form badly. Need Anton for his speed. Pants, well who else? Macca, because this is the chance he needs to impress and I think Konch needs some time to re-address his role in the team. His dip in form has been frightening. Let's be honest Macca couldn't do any worse.
I'd really like NRC to also have a stint on the bench but that ain't gonna happen, so no point in pretending.
I know it's another change of formation, and I think that's also been one of our problems this season, but some of our regular players have had enough time to find form and it seems, for some, it isn't gonna happen anytime soon.
I love the idea of players fighting for a spot to run on, it's that attitude we need from all players and one that seems to be missing.
Over to you lads.

Anon - fair enough but when Yossi isn't in the side I think we lack imagination and invention. We never look like creating much when he's not there. The strikers aren't getting goals but they're not getting chances either.

If Bowyer's injured, Yossi has to play IMO. Need a play maker. Obviously he has to be on song to be effective. Who do you play when he's playing poorly? I want the FA Cup Yossi back!

Beggers,I think Konchesky is suspended, so McCartney probably a certain starter. Fairly sure I read somewhere that Tevez is injured.I agree with Collins, also dangerous from set pieces and corners.
NRC shouldn't, but he will be palying.Isn't it intresting when the Argies signed everyone said Mullins would lose his place to Mascherano, yet he is one of the few that seems to be trying.
My line up for tonight would be a 4-5-1.
Green
Pantsil Ferdinand Collins McCartney
Harewood Mascherano Mullins Ethers
Benayoun
Zamora/Cole/Teddy take your pick.
I would let Marlon play on the right.Let him use his speed to run at the defense and give us some width.Mascher and Mullins as holding midfielders and Etherington on the left if he is fit.Let Yossi play freely behind a lone striker.I'ts unlikely AP will go with something like that but IMO we need to try something different and something Blackburn wouldn't expect.

Melbourne - something they won't expect as long as it's positive and we take the game to them. :-)

I like the idea of Yossi in a free role. Melbournehammer's line up looks good. I probably wouldn't go with Teddy by himself from the start though.

Melbourne, ha ha, ICF cards, nice one. Nah mate, they've all seen Green Street and were shit scared! Brissie boys aka 'Eagle Street Elite', "where's your famous ESE!" If that was the case that would mean Dave's character would be that top man with the terrible Cockney, 'Mary Poppins' like accent!
Like the lineup as well, but he won't drop NRC. I also like the idea of Yossi free role. Thought for sometime that M & M in the middle would shore things up at the back, but again, unless someone does a 'Tonya Harding' on NRC, he's playing.
