Neill finally signs
We all thought it wouldn't happen, but it did in the end. Lucas Neill has signed a £60,000 a week deal for a fee of about £1,500,000. I don't know how long he's signed for but my guess is probably either 6 months or about 2-3 years with a relegation "eject! eject! eject!" clause. I think he really believes West Ham can stay up and that he'll get games with us. Plus there's that big pile of money. I'm a bit concerned that Curbs is splashing this money around, especially on wages. I don't like big wage bills, but I suppose any price is worth paying to stay up..We're also getting a striker from Sevilla called Kepa Blanco on loan till the end of the season with an option to buy. He's 23 but I can't tell you any more than that. It's a secret. (actually I don't know anything about him)

Kanoute is keeping blanco out of the sevilla team - in fact Kanoute is top scorer in la liga. I always rated Freddy highly as a player with the potential to be like Henry. Anyway Blanco has scored 7 goals in limited la liga appearances.
West Ham will not sign Ronaldinho! Fingers crossed ;-)

Believe me , with the rivers of gold coming the premiership's way the wages with pale in insignificance, so expect even higher wages in the premiership.
Great to see Curbs and Eggy doing there thang!!
If the truth be known, it is eggies finesse in the football world that is brining these players to upton park, it was eggie that convinced Neill to join the revolution.

Great that LN has finally signed, seemed to be going on forever! Real pleased with this signing, not beacause he's Aussie(frankly you could be Al Qaeda for all I care as long as you help us stay up), but because he's a good professional football player. He can play anywhere in the back four and will give 100% every game. A quality signing. Worry about the wages later whubris, for now pay'em and play'em.
Blanco, had a quick peek at him on youtube and most of his goals seemed to come from headers. Not a bad thing as he can be a good target man in the box. We don't seem to score many headers? But if he's to be of any use to us he'll have to click straight away.
Saw the EPL highlight show last night, one of the most blatant offsides I've ever seen.
It's all going against us but that's the West Ham way, it's was never going to be easy. So now I support two teams, West Ham and anyone who plays against Watford, Charlton, Wigan or Sheffield.

Re Neill's wages it has been a win/win for Lucas and the Hammers.
Lucas Neill's real worth is say 5.5 mil.Brum want 6 mil for Upson and we bought Davenport for 3 mil.So was Neill really only worth 1.5 mil? No but he was in the last 6 months of his contract and was walking at the end of the season.
Divide the difference between his worth and what we paid for him which equals 4 mil and now divide that by 130 (the 2 and half year contract he signed) which roughly comes to 30,000 per week.Add that to a probable base wage of 30,000 and you have your 60,000 per week.
Good buisness by the Hammers in that they are paying off Neill's worth over a 2 year period and excellent business by Neill to pocket 4 mil.

Gareth Southgate has confirmed West Ham United made an enquiry for Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka.
The Australia international is out of contract at the end of the season and is waiting for talks regarding his future.
Boro have recently stated that discussions will start after the close of the transfer window and Southgate is desperate to keep Viduka at The Riverside.
The Boro boss has been delighted with the forward's response to the recent speculation and acknowledged there had been interest from West Ham.
One can hope!!

I think KUMB has just been around forever, is heavily visited and is heavily linked. Google uses links from other sites as "votes" for the page, and this is used very strongly in the ranking algorithm.

Watford beat Blackburn, which puts them 5 points behind us, though they have a game in hand against wigan. I sorta hope watford beat wigan and then dont win anymore games :P

According to this dodgy article there is a half-million release clause in case of relegation.
Apparently we've also had a 3 million offer for pie eater Dukes turned down. Can't say I'm all that keen on him as he's a similar player, but with less of a future, than Ashton.

Yeah I'm with NM, Kanoute could head a ball. Infact he could score a goal. His problem was attitude, he looked slow half the time and you sort of got the feeling he wasn't giving it his all. Shame really, he never really fulfilled his potential with us IMO.
Also with whubris on Dukes, speed and trickery is what we need, got plenty of big blokes. A striker with pace to burn to play off one of these blokes is the go. Carlos Tevez "COME ON DOWN".

How was the Roar game on the weekend? Did any of you catch up?
