Tevez Gone?
As good as signed for Man U apparently....
Times
This is London
Not quite sure why anybody really thought he'd be at West Ham next season - some people on here even sure of it. :-(

1) what happened to Tevez wanting to wait until after Copa America?
2) what happened to our option to meet the terms of anyone else's offer?
3) is this possible because MSI still assert their right to terminate his contract under the 3rd party agreement? If so this could all play out it court

Nah just paper talk. I thought a deal was as good as done for him to go to Real Madrid or was it Inter, no it was Cheski hang on wasn't it Liverpool......
Be happy, he's West Ham through and through. I'm sure he used to stop in at the Roman for pie'n'mash before hitting the chicken run, when he was a lad. Going to Manure! no chance!

From the Sun
WEST HAM are ready to go to war with Kia Joorabchian in their determination to keep Carlos Tevez.
Chairman Eggert Magnusson wants to thrash out a deal for Tevez which removes Joorabchian from the equation.
The Argentine forward is under contract to the Hammers until 2010 and the club still holds his registration.
But Joorabchian owns Tevez’s economic rights and has been touting him around for at least £20million.
Yet West Ham insist any transfer needs their permission.
The Hammers were fined £5.5m for breaching third-party ownership rules over Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
An arbitration panel on Tuesday upheld the Premier League decision not to dock the club points.
Now Magnusson aims to remove any uncertainty by agreeing a compensation package with Joorabchian and avoidingTEVEZ ... a potential legal battle.
Premier League chiefs are eager for the matter to be resolved once and for all.
A League spokesman insisted: “As far as we are concerned, West Ham are now the sole owners of Carlos Tevez.
“Kia Joorabchian probably disagrees but it is something he must sort out privately with West Ham.”

Most paper talk has been speculative - this seems alot more confident in the writing - sounds like they have definative information. I dunno but it doesn't sound good. Even if Eggy fights Kia it seems apparent the player doesn't want to stay which is a problem in itself.

Key comment in the Dailly Mail which allows them to write whatever speculation they like.....
"The move will be completed next week, subject to any challenge from West Ham."

If it happens, it happens but until the club make a statement and I see a picture of him holding up another teams club shirt with his name on the back, ignorance is bliss.

yeah its not like they could have photos of a player in another clubs shirt before a deal was done/announced..that'd be too co-ince-idental :)

Carlos Tevez had shrugged off the latest transfer speculation linking him with an imminent move to Manchester United.
The Daily Mail and The Times led today's back page with a story claiming that the 23-year-old United striker was on his way to Old Trafford, after a 'friend' of Tevez's claimed that he has told them that he would be playing for the Reds next season.
But speaking this morning at Argentina's Copa America HQ, United's current Player of the Year laughed off the story.
"As far as I am aware I have not received any official offers," he told Argentinian newspaper Clarin.
"Once an offer arrives then we will see. But the fact that Real Madrid, Intern and Manchester United are interested in me makes me proud.
"If I have to stay at West Ham, it would be fine. I am happy there and people love me very much. But right now my focus is here.
"Once this is over, we shall see."
----------------------------
From the look of it hes not being as subtle anymore. "it would be fine"
I did vote no he wouldnt be with us next year on the poll, though i still hope im wrong.

Unfortunately (but realistically) Carlitos is on his way out and we should wish him well. Although he says no offer has been received from man utd, the point is there is dialog with MU and once an agreement has been reached they will make their offer and we should not stop him from pursuing his dreams. Anyway we have bigger problems. If Eggy is running our recruitment drive then god help us. he will continue to spend his money on average overrated players and make us the laughing stock of the league. All this hype and barrels of cash and yet I can't see us getting beyond mid-table at best, or possibly another relegation battle next season. I love WH passionatley but this "new era" kind of emits some bad karma. Last November I predicted that we were going to be relegated and we just scrapped through. I desperately hope I am proven wrong again and we continue to operate in our proud WH tradition...

The following is an official statement from West Ham United Chairman Eggert Magnusson...
"Carlos Tevez is a registered West Ham United player, contracted to the Club until June 2010.
"There is no agreement with West Ham United for Carlos Tevez to leave the Club and we expect him to return in time for next season's preparations.
"No decision on his future can be reached without the agreement of West Ham United."
