West Ham vs Man City Live on Foxtel - Brisbane Hammers to the Pig n Whistle once again!

Our opening fixture of the 2007/08 season at home to Man City 11th August is live on Fox Sports - midnight kick off EST.
The Brisbane Hammers will be out in force @ the Pig n Whistle as they were for our run in last season - usual 10pm meeting time.
Be there or be square!
There will I'm sure be comings and goings in the West Ham squad between now & then but hopefully this will not deter our preparations for the big kick off. It is imperative we get off to a good start and avoid the struggles of last season.

Dave, its Westham5096 (Paul) here, was wondering if you could post on this site that we here in Adelaide would like to get together at the Rosemont Hotel in Hindley St, for the first game against Man City. We will be there from about 9pm onwards and would really like to see all the crowd that we had for the end of last season attend so we can get things up and running for the new season. Thanks from Paul and Kaye here in Adelaide.

We have Sky in our apartment in NZ but since Sky UK aren't showing us till late Oct I guess that means we might not be on in NZ either:(
We were in NZ for the 1st game after promotion and the place we had pre-booked didn't have sky so we did a deal with another motel up the road to let us in at midnight to watch the game and we left straight after and went back to sleep at the 1st place :)

Suspect it's a journo wind up mate. As you'd gather from the press lately we seem to have overtaken Osama as public enemy number one. They just keep stirring the pot.
On gossip issues, I read that schwazer might leave you guys and that he wasn't happy with the club? What do you reckon?

Schwarzer has 1 year left on his contract and is trying to get a pay rise, he said he wants to stay, but is prepared to move if he doesn't get a better offer off us. He did this 2 years ago and McClaren said he could leave, and when know one came in for him he asked to be taken off the transfer list. He is a good keeper but is prone to dropping a few bollox as he did in the Asian cup,maybe he is not as good as he thinks he is??? I would prefer him to stay but if he leaves next season for freee, fair enough, as we've had our money worth out of him in the last 11 years, and in a years time one of our younger keepers might be ready to take over. what ever he does good luck to him as he has been a good and very loyal player. I can't wait for the new season to start to see our new signings. I think it will be a very exciting season, with all the money thats been spent by a lot of teams.

Blimey, Sven sure is buying some players! Never heard of any of them though. No homegrown lads in the mix. Not that it matters really, but getting all the foreign lads to click straight away will be a challenge for him.
I reckon Citeh will either surprise everyone this season or flop big time, suspect they'll be no middle ground.
Should be a cracking game what with our new mob and theirs.

Whats doin lads? Scotty the mackem here. Are many of yas coming along to catch Sunderland take on the yids before the hammers game? Terry, Chris and myself (Obviously) will be there if anyone wants to come in a bit earlier. Looking forward to seeing you all again for a beer and a good sing.
