Must win game V Sunderland
I know that all games are 'must win' really but this upcoming game against Sunderland is a massive one methinks. Will be very interesting to see what team Curbs puts out with all our injuries, looks like he will have to give some of the youngsters a run-out? If we lose, it's 4 on the trot (sorry for the reminder) with a difficult game at Pompey to come. However, a win would see us clawing back to the top half of the table and be a huge confidence booster. These games leading up to the Spuds clash are pivotal I think and will shape our season.

We'll be going to Eagle Street initially, but then it apparently closes and we'll have to move over to the queen street one.

Believe it or not Risky, I'm trying to be positive but IF we lose then a 4 game run without a win is not good in anyones books, injuries or no injuries. A win against Sunderland is vital in my books to stop the rot.

Interesting game this one.
To lose 4 on the bounce, and this game against less than illustrious opposition at home, would be dire.
Sunderland would fancy themselves against us, I suspect, and from what I've seen they have little quality about them but they will scrap for everything.
Even with a depleted side we should be too strong for them but in saying that all will need to play to their potential. Are you listening Ethers!!!
Being at home I will not be happy if we don't get something out of the game.

Onto the Solano question again. Apparently he's on International duty with Peru again so it looks unlikely he'll be on the pitch for WH this weekend. Also heard that when he joined us he told Curbs that his International career was over but he reneged once he'd joined us so Curbs has the hump with him.
I can't confirm any of the above, other than whubris is a clever little sod, as it's just what I've read on other forum pages, and they do talk some shit on some of'em.

To be honest I think the outcome of tonight game will be 1-1, although you lot have a better chance of winning than us, I wouldn't be surprised if you put 2 or 3 past us especially with McShane out. I can't go out unfortunately due to work but I hope it's a good match all the same.
Oh and risky, where was Australia in the final? :P

we mugged them...they were better than us for large parts of the game. Jones is a jumping freak.
Our defending continues to look vulnerable most of the time.
We need to eek out as many points like this as we can until we can get the majority of the squad back and available.

Upson - not a centre halfs backside IMO
Cole - about f'n time
McCartney - solid in defence and dangerous going forward
Mullins - good until he got injured
Curbs - how long did it take him to realise we were getting smashed in the middle before making a move?

Shit performance - great result!
Curbs' substitution won the game for us though so I don't think we should be handing too much blame his way. We were never going to set the world alight performace wise after losing 3 on the spin. I think we should be greatful we now have a team that has learned to pull itself out of a losing run no matter how unsightly the performance was - this time last year we had 5 points and were in the process of losing 7 in a row.
However if we think we can perform like that next week @ pompey we'll be rolled!

Carlton Coles goal, that ive known seen again was better then i thought. At first i thought hed hit it with like the back of his neck and it had gone in. BUt he actulaly turned himself well.
Solanos effort was probably worth the goal anyway, it just needed a helping hand, or foot, to get it over the line.
And What was with Boa Morte. He actually looked good!
It all came down to green again. When he made that save against leadbitter. If that had gone in i dont think we would got the win. Its almost a good thing he doesnt get an england call up. cos our players always get injured if theyre called up tot he squad.
ANyway im badly hungover. Twas a good night with a good, but bit lucky, result

Dave, I do think Curbs waited too long.
We were under the pump for a good 20-30 mins before he made a move. We were lucky to still be in it by then. Not only because of Green, but they had plenty of other opportunities as well that they didn't capitalise on.
They were winning possesion too easily in the middle of the park and playing the ball wide every time so thay could get crosses into the box. Noble and Ethers were struggling defensively on the flanks.
Having said that, it was a good move replacing them both at the same time, so I'll give him some credit for that.
