Middlesbrough Away @ the Pig n Whistle!
It's time for another Brisbane Hammers meet up. The Middlesbrough game is on Fox the night of Saturday 11th November (well officially Sunday 12th) kick off 1am and the Brisbane Hammers will be at the pig n whistle for a few beers and to enjoy the game.
I understand there is a fair sized Brisbane Boro contingent so it will be interesting to match up again after last years semi final of the FA Cup in which we narrowly won 1-0.
We shall be at the Venue from about 10pm so be there or be square!

Jimmyp, most of the pubs down here will show the game but with the sound down and dance music on at ear shattering volumes. So what's the point. Yet to find a venue that is 'strictly football'. Heard a whisper of a sports bar in Surfers which might be the go, but I need to check it out. Stay tuned. If I was you I'd consider the drive up to Brissie, the lads up there know how to support the club.
Norvern, I should have contacted that mob about getting the game shown on the big screen in Surfers? If you guys are interested maybe we could look at it down the track? Be good on a summers night.

Danger game against Boro coming up. How often have we been let down against inferior opposition in the past.Mark my words this is Boro's "Blackburn game".They will probably throw everything at us at home and are desparate for a win.
I know it's hard but we have to forget about the Arsenal game and the tactics because they are unlikely to work against Boro.Anyone know if Anton will be fit for Saturday? If not McCartney looks more than capable in central defence.I have queries over the fitness of Bowyer,Yossi and Etherington.Bowyer looked knackered after 60 minutes while the other two did not look like they had much left in the tank at the end of the Arsenal game.
I would go 4-5-1 again but with some personnel changes.

You'll get sick of my play "Marlon on the right" mantra but I think it might work against Boro.Firstly, Bobby looked good by himself up front and should be given another similar role.Pards must then have the guts to sub him again at 60 minutes if we are level or behind.I'd imagine that Dowling on the left would be Boro's main avenue to attack.Marlon's pace and power tracking back to help Spector might frustrate Boro.Let Bowyer play behind Zamora and bring Yossi's fresh legs on after 60 minutes.
I think it's great to have so many options at the moment and it looks like the confidence is back and the palyers are "happy" again.I'd take a point at Boro as we have a poor record there.

Anon - he was well regarded as a youth prospect but never made the first team. He was just one of many that seemed to be doing well but never really made the grade. Matt Holland was the same and he went and made a name for himself elsewhere. Not every youngster gets the opportunity they deserve unfortunately due to circumstances not under their control.
