West Ham knocked out... again
Watford beat us 1-0 to ensure that the Hammers will not repeat the oh-so-near glory of last season's FA Cup run. This is like a bloody bad dream. Apparently we played all right. Zippedy doo dah.
Bit of a weird team if you ask me.
Carroll, Neill (Pantsil 48), Spector, Dailly, McCartney, Newton (Sheringham 65), Reo-Coker, Quashie, Boa Morte (Etherington 77), Zamora, Cole.
Subs Not Used: Green, Mullins.
Neill at right back, was it? He came off injured (of course) for Pantsil. I guess Spector and Dailly were our centres. Newton at right wing. Carroll in goal and he fluffed it, from what I've read, to gift them the game. Green has got to play, no question.
Well at least we can concentrate on the league. Bleh.

Will we get revenge in 2 weeks with a stronger side?

From what i heard on the Sky Sports Radio live sports centre feed thing. Apparently Carlton Cole had a real good game. And should have scored a few times and was only just denied.

Matthew Upson's agent has accused Birmingham of reneging on a verbal agreement with the central defender in blocking his move to West Ham.
Barry Neville claims the 27-year-old was told by Blues he could leave St Andrews after four years if any interested clubs met a certain price.
Neville says that figure has been exceeded by the Hammers, who have had a £6million ($A15million) offer rejected, but City still refuse to let Upson leave.
Upson's representative told the Birmingham Sunday Mercury: "Matt is disappointed after having been told he could leave Birmingham for a certain amount - and what has been offered has gone way past that.
"There's not really much more I can say other than I'm disappointed and I'm disappointed for Matt.
"As to whether he would be interested in a move to West Ham, that can't be answered until a bid has been accepted."
Upson rejected a new five year contract last season and has made it clear he will not put pen to paper on another deal for Steve Bruce's side.
He has 17 months remaining of his contract and Bruce on Friday slapped a "not for sale" tag on Upson as regards this transfer window which closes at midnight on Wednesday.

Whats with all the aggressive language, absolute no need... Not sure where you get most of your knowledge on our club from... but there is loads of hear'say on here based on paper talk... Carroll is one of the best keepers in the league and certainly one of the best professionals at the club... yes he has made a mistake, in a game where we ain't that bothered about because we should only be thinking about the league... If carroll didn't make mistakes he would still be at Man U... I love my club as much as anyone... but you have to remember who you support.. we are not a europeon giant and thus can only attract players that are not classed as that... As for anyone thinking that Neill wouldn't play at right back... you need to learn abit more about how football operates.... We have a very good club and set of players that realistically can make the top half again... however due to a poor start... we need to regroup and success for West Ham this year is classed as any position above 18th...

Peds, not sure if you are having a pop at tj hammer's language or the language of our site in general.
We tend to not care what language is used in posts and comments as long as it is not directed at other site participants in an abusive manner.
Supporting West Ham is a passionate past-time and consequently the words used tend to get a bit passionate ;-)
In terms of Carroll being one of the best keepers in the league..perhaps you could mount a case for that, but personally I wouldn't agree. It makes me concerned when he plays. Sure he can have a great game as he did against the barcodes but he can have some mares as well. He flaps at crosses like he missed that lesson at keeper school. Green makes me feel a lot calmer and hopefully now he can get back in the team.
In terms of us publishing hearsay, the transfer window is all about speculation. Somethimes it gets tiring being constantly linked with the entire planet but we tend to discuss the rumours we think have some credence and possibly may occur. We generally quote the paper or website we sourced the info from.
At the end of the day if you want only locked in fact on done deals, read the official site.

I just saw the highlights on youtube. (Sorry, don't know how to post a link).
What a shocker from Carroll.
Did anyone else think we should have got a penalty when Cole was bought down in the box? He was booked for diving.
At least now we can concentrate on the leauge.

Wasn't happy with this at all. Gotta beat Watford at home. Doesn't matter about the FA Cup I know, but we've gotta beat teams at home and get used to winning again. Whether we progressed wasn't really the issue for me but building confidence for the next game was.
Oh well, easy 3pts mid week lads. "Shock loss for the mickeys" who's with me?

Why didn't we think of this?
"Ronaldinho to Napoli? Don't bet against it.
A group of Napoli fans have hatched a plan of Baldrick-like cunning to bring the Brazilian from Barcelona to Italy by spending as little as two million euros.
Although Ronaldinho's contract possesses a prohibitive 134 million Euros buy-out clause, the Napoli supporters propose to agree a deal with the forward and then afford the buy-out fee by betting on the current 67-1 odds for Ronaldinho joining the club. "

Peds - Carroll can be good on his day but unfortunately IMO is prone to too many mistakes. I don't think Green did much wrong to be dropped and was being talked about amongst the fans as the finest since Parkes. I too felt more assured with Green in goal and feel he commands his area alot better than Carroll. Carroll is a good shot stopper but as Norven Munky says he tends to flap with the ball in the air.
As for the aggressive swearing it's probably reactionary from a dissappointing result. Must admit I thought "FFS we're fucked if we can't beat Watford at home". People have to realise how depleted our defence is at the moment. Mind you they had 2 West Ham rejects in their defence. What is more dissappointing is we've lost Lucas for 3 weeks. :-(

I agree with you dave about Carroll. Being a keeper myself, I can guarantee you that after his last effort, Carroll will not be willing to leave his line and his confidence in the air will be further shot.
Furthermore, he will have also lost the confidence of his defenders. Not a healthy position for an already brittle defence to be in.
Green must play against the scousers, even if only for the boost in confidence down back.

Greg - I think Green has had a spat with Curbs and I think Curbs has a huge ego and holds grudges. Like where is Konchesky??? You can't tell me McCartney is playing so well he's keeping Konch out? What the fuck have Mullins & Noble done? Why does Quashie get in no worries?
