Fanx Mates
This started off as a reply to Beggers in the post about the Charlton Game at the Pig & Whistle, but has turned into a bit of an update.
Beggers, I'd really love to be there but next week I fly down to Melbourne with my family to see a surgeon who has recommended me for surgery on my back.
I had thought I was gonna have a spinal fusion in Brisbane (which is a major op) but it now looks like I will get a date from this Melbourne geezer next week for a less invasive op in the very near future :-)
2006 was a shite year for me health wise (I discovered I had a bony spur on one of my vertabrae that was pinching my sciatic nerve and my back went out 5 times) and this decision has at least made 2007 look brighter. All that needs to happen now is for West Ham to stay up and it could be the perfect year!
I just wanted to thank you all in this group for the general jovial banter and feeling of belonging. We all support the best team in the world and now I also feel like I've got some of the best mates too.

Bloody Hell Beexie! You must've broke some mirrors in your time mate. Seriously though, hope it all goes well, we'll be needing your voice and 'new back' when we're in next seasons playoff final, sigh!

Oh maybe not the best team in the world but a FUCK'N brilliant club with the best supporters in the world, fact. They don't deserve us and we deserve better. But we are WEST HAM and unfortunately the pain of this season is part of being WEST HAM, and that's something the Mickeys, Mancs, Chelscum etc haven't a clue about. Supporters, shit! what would they know about it. All they ever have to worry about is whether or not they'll make the CL. They've no idea.

Beggers, I don't think beexie's problems had anything to do with mirrors, his problems all started when he sought treatment from the West Ham physio!!!!
Seriously, good luck with the operation.I actually work in health care and would be happy to help with advice etc when you are in Melbourne.

Beggers, you noticed my rather loud singing voice? Young David has a fine pair of lungs on him. I should know he sang in my ear'ole all nite during one game at the Pig. No mirrors broken perhaps an old soccer injury, I've played soccer pretty much all my life till around 2002, 3 times a week at one stage and had a few nasty knocks (I was a left winger who took all the corners, penalties, dead balls in my yoof but as I aged I matured into a more Julian Dicks left back crunching tackle sorta geezer)
Melbourne, cheers mate, I'm seeing Paul D'Urso a neurosurgeon at the Epworth Centre. Been told he's pretty high up on the pecking order of quality surgeons in Australia so I'm lucky there.
Dave, yes we are a pile of old bollox who must win our next 2 games or it's curtains.
I reckon 2-1 to us tomorrow night. 1-0 to them at half-time just to give our hearts all a tester.
It's the West Ham way.
