Tevez turns down Inter
While we're not out of the woods yet it is a step in the right direction to see that Carlitos will not be going to Inter Milan & their band of Argies. He has made it clear he wants to stay in the prem, but the Arse & the scousers are still sniffing around.
Bent looks certain to be heading to the yids which may be enough to convince little judas to head back to us since he won't want to be 4th in the pecking order.
Still waiting on the arbitration outcome which was supposed to come down before the end of the month.
The off season sucks...where's all the big name signings that made Lucas cream his pants Eggie?

Still feel Tevez will be with us come Aug. Someones gotta come up with a wad of cash for him to go and I've a sneaky feeling it ain't gonna happen. Plus I think Eggy and Kia will come up with an arrangement mutually benificial for both parties. Hope so anyway.
Bent and Spuds, ahh! a match made in heaven. They're welcome to him IMO. Still can't believe the money spent on him! Defoe to go to Villa I reckon.
Arbitration delayed for another week or so. Not sure if that's good or bad? Here's hoping the panel rule in favour of the PL 100%. Can't see how they couldn't really but you never know?
Yeah off season is boring as, fucking hate it! And the big name signings, well who knows? Maybe they're busy playing in the Copa America? Bit anxious about it really but to be fair with the exception of Bolton, not much is happening for any of the clubs. To put a positive spin on things Upson and Ashton will seem like new signings come Aug:)

Hello Hammers, I'm very surprised how quiet West Ham have been in the transfer market so far. But there's still plenty of time as most players are still on there jolly's or playing in tournaments. This off season, the transfers seem to have started a bit earlier than usual. If Tevez does leave, wouldn't you rather see him go abroad? as it would really hurt for your hero to come back in different colours and maybe even score against you??? Then again he might not leave? What's your views??? For the 1st time in living memory the Boro have signed someone before the last minute of transfer deadline day. with Woodgate signed up and now Aliadiere and Tuncay Sanli coming in with at least another 2 top signings being promised, we might be able to change from the slow predictable build up play to a fast, pacey and attacking style of play not seen since the Ravanelli, Emerson and Juninho days, but this time we've got a strong defence to back them up. I'm like you and log onto the BBC as soon as I wake up to see if we've signed anyone else and usually find off season boring but this year it's been quite exciting, with our 3 early signings. I can't wait to see Tuncay Sanli play, he reminds me of Tevez in a way, as he is a very busy and skillfull player who always gives 100% and knows where the net is. If you haven't heard of Sanli check out this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MteE-dZTJIs He's fast and skillfull and lethal with both feet and his head. (Turkish Delight)

Blimey TT he looks awesome! How much did he cost? Wished we'd signed him! Unfortunately we don't seem to be looking outside Britain for players? sigh! Curbishley is obviously trying to go British to steady the ship as it were but considering the outrageous money being asked for them and that our best player last season was Tevez, seems very narrow minded to me.
Yeah if Tevez leaves for someone like Le arse or the mickeys I would be devastated! We are of course all hoping he stays. The prospect of him and Ashton up front is mouth watering. Gives me a hard on just thinking about it! Maybe Sanli and Tevez up front TT?
Aliadiere was on loan for us the season last if I recall? Couldn't break into the first team mind but neither could Mascherano so waht does that tell you!!! FFS!
We've also been promised 'world class players' but alls quiet on the western front, so who knows? Suspect the timing of this arbitration bollocks is not helping attract players either!

Beggers:-Tuncay Sanli was on a Free transfer, out of contract- Viduka age 32 Free to Poocastle and Tuncay age 25 Free to Boro in my opinion good business. The day we signed Tucay, The Boro website recieved over 50,000 hits from Turkey, saying that we had signed a superstar, only time will tell? I was talking to Southgate when I was in the Boro at xmas and he wanted more British players in the team but as you say, the asking prices are a joke, But we do have 5 or 6 of our 1st team regulars are actually born in Middlesbrough, which is fantastic in this era of johnie foriegner. Dean Ashton will be like a new signing for you as long as he's the same player? as sometimes it takes a few months for players to get back into the groove after such a serious injury. I'm sure you'll be on the transfer merry go round soon. I watched Aliadiere when I was back in the Boro and he ripped Liverpool apart (6 v 3) with his pace, I just hope he can produce that kind of display week in week out, but he has said that he is determined to prove himself in the Premiership, and prove Wenger wrong for letting him go, once again only time will tell

I posted a comment under a previous topic about Tuncay. Great player and can play in multiple attacking mid positions and as a striker and he was a free transfer. I have also seen him play in big games for Turkey and from what I gathered the bigger the game, the greater he plays or tries everything to win the game.
Great signing for Boro, and it is poor management on WHU behalf because he would have come if we offered him a deal I guess. Plus he fits in positions where we need someone...
anyway the offseason is cr@p, ive given up checking on who is coming who isnt, its just too confusing. The club could do well to check out a few wingers in the Copa america or even have a dig at buying Ismael Matar from UAE who is a pretty good player as well. Dont know whats going on, but we have a fairly strong squad (if Tevez stays) I hope Curbs can make the right moves. I have my doubts a little though because he seems to have a lack of nous in the foreign player market. Anyway we will see what happens. I just hope we dont pay a ridiculous amount of money on players that are way overrated. Big money for proven top class performers.

'Avin a chat to Southgate at Xmas, blimey TT not just some blow in fan then! How'd you manage that?
Free transfer, too right good business, bloody good business. Couldn't borrow your scouts for a while then?
Special if you can manage to have a group of players who are local. You know that they know what it's all about.
Hopefully Ashton will have enough pre-season games to hit the ground running come Aug. You're right returning from such an injury can be a bastard.
Alidiere has talent but he's gotta produce week in week out and as you say time will tell if he up for it.

Beggers, having in laws and a wife thats turkish helps :). Watching turkish TV and the League as well
In fact I always wondered why Tuncay didnt leave to some of the bigger clubs before. Apparently the reason was that he wanted to go to a club where he was guaranteed to play and make an impact such as boro, villa etc..he didnt want to go to a massive club and just be a squad player. He is a good player, the danger with foreign players as we have all seen is it takes time to adjust for most of em.
The club really should send scouts to watch the u 20 youth cup especially the brazilians and the argentinians who are always ripe for the picking at decent prices.

Beggers:- One of our best friends over here, Sue, who we have known for years from back in the Boro is Steve Gibsons (The Boro Chaiman) sister, so we have always been involved a lot inside the club before moving to Brizzy. She organized for my eldest daughter to be the Boro mascot against Bolton (5 v 1), when we were back in the Boro at Xmas. Big Schwarzer gave her his autographed shirt and gloves after the game, thats when we started trying to organize him coming to the Pig & Whistle. Southgate told us then that they knew Viduka would leave, but had promised to give his all to help us stay up. and that he would love an all British team but it's not financially possible, with todays silly price tags. And how the youth developement at the club has been a huge success in bringing local talent through to the 1st team (this was started by Robson) The Hammers are quite similar in how they have brought some brilliant young local players through the ranks over the years, but the people at the top have been greedy and sold them on which is soul destroying to the fans. We were the same in the 70's and 80's selling the likes of Mark Procter, David Hodgson, Craig Johnston, Stuart Riply and Gary Pallister to name just a few who all went on to win major honours at bigger clubs. Hopefully the future is bright for both Clubs.

subject: Re: Delivery cost problem
Hello,
I previously sent an email (see below) highlighting a bug in Kitbag's web interface, which essentially would have cost me GBP 5.90 had I chosen to go through with the order. I am yet to receive a reply despite the 48 hour response time promised on your website.
Thanks to your delayed reply, you no longer have the item I was going to purchase in the size I need according to the website.
Hence I will not be placing an order for it or any other item through Kitbag even though I had other items in my basket.
This is the second time in my personal experience that Kitbag have failed to provide any reasonable level of customer performance. Last time, I ordered a replica shirt and waited some two months before giving up on it and cancelling the order.
So congratulations, Kitbag have managed a zero percent hit rate so far with my orders. Quite an achievement.
If you Google "west ham australia", or "west ham blog", and follow the top link, you will find the most popular West Ham site in Australia. You will also see this letter reproduced there.
Regards
Graham

We have used Kitbag twice, once a few weeks ago.
There were two issues, one good, one bad.
1) when you added stuff to your basket it got slightly cheaper.
2) you couldn't select airmail only UPS which costs and arm & a leg - like 35 quid for the bunch of stuff we ordered but we paid it cause the sale on last year's kit was so damn cheap.
They do say somewhere on kitbag that once your order gets above 75 quid and a 'certain' weight and size airmail is no longer offered.
And the interface is glitchy. You can select airmail in some circumstances but when you update it doesn't change the postage amount - it stays as UPS cost.
I will say the UPS postage was f'ken fast, 3 days or so.
My take is that I will suffer kitbag's clunkiness when the gear is on mega special but I wouldn't use them at normal prices.

yeah one other complaint. They must be slow updating the items/sizes available on the site cause both orders we have selected things available on the website and they have sent the order without one item saying it was unavailable...and they don't contact you asking if you want to proceed or substitute something etc, they just send what they have...which could be a real bitch if the main item you wanted doesn't get sent but some other stuff you only added to make the postage worthwhile does.
So in your case G they might not have even had what you wanted at the time you 1st tried to order it, never mind later on...

*if* they have it in stock you'll get it (and fast if it is by UPS).
(as in actually have it stock, not what the web site lets you order).

Anon, dunno mate. Suspect it might be. Bit coincidental if it's not?
Back to shitbag. According to my order with said company, and I use that term losely, when tracked, apparently 'picking' is in progress! Now that conjures up many images the least of which is the shirt I orderd being 'picked' from a shelf, placed on a truck for delivery to the airport! I fear I'm also a victim of Shitbag!
I too have contacted their customer service dept but I think there's a room somewhere at Shitbag with a mountain of unanswered emails next to two customer service blokes playing world of warcraft on their PC's. Sigh!

I feel so honoured to be blessed by their email. It was so helpful, I didn't realise that all I had to do to solve everything was to call them on international rates in the middle of the fucking night.
Those bastards are about as useful as a marshmallow cricket bat.
No more shitbag for me!

LMFAO! At least you got a reply! Must've got to the next level and they were taking a quick break?
You know that if you did happen to drag yourself out of bed and managed to get through to them, you'd no doubt be put on hold for an inordinate amount of time listening to the tune from the girl from Impanema before actaully getting to speak to the right person. 'Please hold, your call is important to us and we will be with you shortly' Bollocks!
One of my mates who does read this blog page but doesn't post, you know who your are! reckons his misses just got her 7 squid ladies away shirt from shitbag, so there are some success stories.

'New Belfast chip shop, For Cod and Ulster, has introduced a memorial George Best burger - "bird on top, beef down below" chicken/meat combination' - Popbitch.
Non-Football Story Of The Day
'A Brisbane woman stabbed a male friend twice in the shower after he refused to stop masturbating in front of her children.
'Defence lawyers for Kylie Louise Wilson, 28, said the mother of two "lost it" when her friend of six years, Daniel Peter Blair, went on a masturbation marathon on April 6 last year.
'Brisbane's District Court this morning heard Mr Blair had showed up at Wilson's unit at Birkdale unit, in Redland Shire, where he took amphetamines before having a shower.
'Whilst in the bathroom, Mr Blair, 32, began pleasuring himself, before moving to Wilson's bedroom, where he rolled around naked on her bed and continued his lewd conduct.
'He returned to the bathroom for more and was busted by Wilson, who was attempting to bath her three-and-a-half year-old daughter.
'The court heard Mr Blair refused her repeated requests to stop, prompting her to fetch a knife from the kitchen which she used to stab him twice in the left shoulder.
'Crown prosecutors said Mr Blair paused only to put on his shorts and flee outside to wait for police to arrive, but was again overcome by the urge.
'"Despite his injury, it seems Mr Blair continued to masturbate while in the garage," the prosecutor said.'

Tevez in Bobby out?
News round-up. Take it with a grain of salt but...
http://www.24dash.com/sport/22301.htm is reporting :-
Carlos Tevez could still be a West Ham player next season, after reports emerged over a new deal which will keep the Argentina international at Upton Park.
[snip]
But, a "top source" revealed to the News of the World: "Mr Magnusson has pulled out all the stops to keep Carlos for at least another season. "The package will cost £9million in wages and payments to his owner Kia Joorabchian but the chairman is convinced the deal is done."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The same source is also touting Bobby is set to leave though they are quoting News of the World!, http://www.24dash.com/sport/22314.htm :-
"Hammers boss Alan Curbishley has told Zamora he has no future at Upton Park and can leave along with fellow striker Marlon Harewood."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Sheffield United arbitration hearing occurs today. Something I hadn't read before is that SU themselves undertook a questionable dealing in January
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/06/17/sports/EU-SPT-SOC-West-Ham-Tevez.php :-
"But a report Sunday said United also breached league rules by selling Steve Kabba to Watford with the proviso that the striker didn't play against them in a subsequent match.
Such arrangements are frequently arranged with loan deals. But Kabba moved to Watford in a full transfer in January and the Premier League rules say there can be no contractual terms to prevent a player from facing a former club.
McCabe said there was nothing in the contract that Kabba shouldn't play against the Blades, although the two managers may have agreed between them.
"I am sure there won't be a clause in the contract," he said. "The contract transferring Steve Kabba from Sheffield to Watford was one that was open, was honest and was properly looked at by the Premier League and registered. There is no gray area on that whatsoever."
So it's alright as long as you don't commit the breach of rules to paper?!?!?!? Two faced twats.

The defensive midfielder has been on loan at Everton since January where he made 9 appearances and scored 2 goals including one against Man United. Reports are Everton weren't prepared to pay the £12 million asking price.

I dont think Zamora will be going anywhere. He top scored last season and with the exception of like 2 games, we always took a point whenever he scored.
I heard the same rumour about tevez. I think its worth 9 mil if we hold onto him, essentially seeing as he won us 50 mil by helping to keep us up

This is from WHO from a journo poster (HACK) with close ties to west ham analising the NOTW
article
This is the way I read it (opinion, not fact):
Kia owns a very remarkable asset in Tevez. Obviously he wants the biggest possible return on his investment.
At the moment, he can best achieve this through very expensive one-year loan deals - thus retaining control of his assett while still earning a serious wedge off it.
Last season, Tevez and Mascherano were unknown quantities in Europe. So Kia placed them (at considerable expense) at a club in the world's most watched, most popular league. The ideal shop window and a win-win for Kia.
West ham (for whatever dumb, idiotic reason) didn't utilise Mascher and he was loaned off on equally good terms to Liverpool.
It is worth noting, Liverpool wouldn't touch Mascher in August, but were happy to pay out for an expensive loan deal 6 months later. The West Ham gamble paid off for Kia.
So what now? Well, Tevez was magnificent for a dozen games and the SheffU case has ironically made him big news.
But not quite big enough for anyone to meet the huge buy-out price.
So Kia agrees another enormous loan deal with West Ham taking us to next summer - when the whole saga starts again.
If a Tevez-inspired West Ham fulfil all our dreams and finish top-6 then we give Tevez European football.
If Eggy next summer announces another big transfer splash on top of the mega new stadium......well, then Kia and Tevez have some serious thinking to do.
Eggy will match any financial offer - that much is guaranteed. If Tevez is happy at West Ham and if West Ham are proving themselves to be as ambitious as we say....
All we have to do now is get that year-long deal secured.
Jeez, it's gonna be a long long long week...

This is bullshit, Zamora's going nowhere.
Always thought Tevez would be around for another season and I still think this will be the case. He needs to prove himself in the EPL before others will come shopping. He'll score 20+ goals this season and Ashton will get 15ish, Zamora chips in with 6 or so and the midfield with 8 to 10. It'll be raining goals.
Interesting read brisvegas.
Good luck with the band mr WH bret.

It was on the SUFC official website and Watford website that Kabba did not play because it was in his contract.Kabba played 14 out of 15 games for Watford only missing the Sheffield game.
When asked on Skysports news McCabe said a) he didn't know about it and it can't be right
b)the game was shortly after the transfer er no transfer window closed Jan 31 SUFC v Watford 28th April!
c)it was a biased article written by a WHU supporting journo,Martin Samuel.
Further developments in the last 24 hours regarding the legality of Jon Stead's transfer to SUFC.Remember him ,who scored their 3rd goal against us.It appears he played for 3 clubs between July 1 06 and now.

Parry gives evidence for Blades
West Ham striker Carlos Tevez is at the centre of the controversy
Tevez is at the centre of the Sheffield United-West Ham saga
Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has given evidence for Sheffield United as the Blades fight the Premier League in a bid to overturn their relegation.
A two-day hearing has started in London to decide if the Blades should be reinstated after West Ham - who stayed up - breached player ownership rules.
They were fined £5.5m but avoided a points penalty over the signing of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
Parry appeared at the arbitration tribunal on Monday.
He first drew attention to the rule breaches when Liverpool signed Mascherano from West Ham in the January transfer window.
I think the Premier League accept they wish the arbitration was not happening
Sheff Utd plc chairman Kevin McCabe
Sheffield United plc chairman Kevin McCabe also appeared as a witness, with Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore and general secretary Mike Foster appearing for the other side.
The independent arbitration panel can order a new disciplinary hearing against West Ham or that some compensation be paid to Sheffield United.
The three-man panel's main role is to see whether the correct disciplinary procedures were followed.
Retired High Court judge Sir Philip Otton is chairing the hearing in Fleet Street, with David Pannick QC representing the Blades and leading barrister Nicholas Randall acting for the Premier League.
A verdict is expected to be delivered on Tuesday.
McCabe is adamant the panel will rule in favour of his club over a saga that started back in March.
In that month, West Ham were found guilty of acting improperly and withholding vital documentation over the Argentine pair's ownership but they escaped a points deduction and Tevez was allowed to continue playing.

He and Mascherano, who is now at Liverpool, were part-owned by a third party but the Hammers then ended that agreement, which satisfied the Premier League.
Tevez was one of the major factors in the club's late escape - scoring a goal on the final day of the season at Manchester United to help the Hammers stay up.
The Blades finished on the same number of points as fourth-from-bottom Wigan but were relegated on goal difference.
"I think the Premier League accept they wish the arbitration was not happening," McCabe said last week.
"But in the knowledge it is happening and it cannot be prevented, then if the decision is overturned we should be reselected to the Premier League.
"Since we really looked into the whys and the wherefores of the Tevez affair it became apparent that a wrong decision was made."
Presentations by the Blades have also been made to the European Commission.
"We expressed our concerns of the whole affair," said club spokesman Andy Pack.
"It wasn't a question of trying to enlist support or lobby, rather a chance to inform them of where we are."

Been watching a bit of the Euro u21 tournament on the weekend. I reckon that manolo fenrnandes looks really good. He's got an awesome range of passing and he really throws himself into his tackles. With half a season on loan at Everton I reckon he will have adjusted a bit to the english game as well.
Plus his goal against Manure was an absolute ripper. Find the youtube clip if you have some free time on your hands.

Manuel Fernandes would be a sensational central midfielder and just over a year ago was rated on of as one of the most talented young central midfielders in Europe whilst at Benfica. He is a very good player and well worth around 10 million or so pounds.
I posted after the transfer window, that I am not sure Curbs is the man to spend the cash and the bids made for Bent and Andy Johnson have been ridiculous. When Berbatov can be signed for 10 mill pounds why are we bidding 17 million pounds for Bent? Unbelievable.
Look I dont know who wants to come to the club and who doesnt, but why couldnt we sign someone like Quaresma as a right winger a sensational player. As a striker, not really sure but why not little Nihat the Turkish striker or Diego Milito from Zaragoza surely they would be far cheaper than most options?
You guys should check out the article in Soccernet about the Hammers is quite a good one.

Bugger, I'm disappointed to miss out on that. Very well done there Beggers and everyone else.
Can someone bring a digital camera and post a group photo or something?
I've moved into a unit and am waiting on broadband to be set up and then I'll be back to contributing regularly.
By the way, I was reading that at the WHUFC Fans' Forum, that our beloved club is considering doing a tour of Australia. If that happens, I will absolutely be going along for that.

Graham, do you want me to check to see if I can still get you a shirt? Probably too late but won't hurt to ask? If so what size?
Risky mentioned the West Ham tour next year. If they play anywhere on the East Coast, I'll be there.
Deano, the shirts are white polo shirts with the Brisbane Hammers emblem on the front, top LHS of the shirt. On the RH sleeve there will be crosssed hammers with 'IRONS' underneath. On the back, just below the collar will be crossed hammers and underneath will be W.H.U.F.C. The crossed hammers and and any writing will all be in claret.

REO-COKER ASKS TO LEAVE HAMMERS
Posted 26/05/07 16:57

West Ham captain Nigel Reo-Coker has handed in a transfer request.
According to his advisor, Tony Finnigan, the 23-year-old has decided on a move for pastures new after he was not given the right assurances over his future by the club's board.
"I can confirm that Nigel Reo-Coker has officially handed in a transfer request with West Ham," said Finnigan.
"Nigel hopes his future will be resolved in the next few weeks.
"I am surprised that a 23-year-old Londoner who is captain of his club is being allowed to leave."
Finnigan added on www.skysports.com: "As I said in January, Nigel would get his head down and work to keep West Ham in the Premiership.
"And that is exactly what he did with 100% commitment."

I still like the idea of having our names on the other side of the shirts.
Here's one mob that will do it :-
Ezy Embroidery
Kiosk 1/12, Westfield Shopping 1151 Creek Rd Carindale QLD 4152
ph: (07) 3324 8711
They charge $15 for one or $12 for 2-5 shirts and for that you can have whatever you want that will fit inside an 11cm x 11cm frame including 2 large initials like the coaching staff have.
Just a thought...

Who's got some West Ham DVD'S they can bring to the pig then? Like Risky I've got last seasons review but that's not gonna feel right, so what else we got? I'm gonna try and get the great escape DVD from the club shop but it might not arrive in time so we need a plan 'B'. Anybody?
That's assuming Daves cleared it with the pig to watch some West Ham stuff?
Like Micky said it'll make a nice change to be at the pig and feel at ease. Looking forward to it, should be a good night.

But you're right I think they look pretty good myself. I reckon Baseball caps could be a goer next.

not sure in anyone is interested...the reebok factory outlet shop opposite the mater hospital has some older home strips for $35. They had 12 smalls and one 1 mega tent size (XXL or XXXL)
About 3 yrs old? V-neck with claret & blue stitching, jobserv logo, light blue sleeves at a 45% angle. The one just before they started with the small elastic v wedge.
The whole shop has 40% off the already discounted prices at the moment - reebok, ben sherman, rockport, royal elastic, la coste.

30 Baseball caps ordered - 15 Claret/Maroon - 15 White. Should have them in time for the 16th. They will be 15 bucks a piece. I am paying for these up front as I'm sure we'll have plenty of takers.
Apparently it is a slightly longer lead time on the matresses but I'll keep you posted ;-).

It has been quiet Chris. Wait till Saturday!
Top effort for making the trip up from the capitol for the meet whubris. Look forward to seeing you. Hope everyone turns up, should be a good night.
Canning Town Hammer, yeah we know where it is mate.
To answer your questions, I'm from Stratford, Dads family from Stratford, Mums from Canning town. Both sides of the family all West Ham. I'm third generataion and my boy will carry on the honour. Fuck'n love it!
Some of the lads are from the East End others are Oz but what they all have in common is their passion for the club. True supporters these blokes no matter what. I've had some blind'n nights with these boys, suffered long after mind but it's always been worth it.
Don't know your mate, Adelaides nealy as far away from us as Canning Town.
Keep your ear to the ground mate and let us in on anything you here.

Yeah Deano, I think they've a mob who call themselves the 'Ultras'. Ultra what I don't know? Hope there's no trouble really, it's the last thing we need. Although what with those Palermo wankers taking liberties while we were on their patch, I think the memory will still be fresh enough for it to spark. But as I say I hope nothing happens.
Onto the football aspect. Brilliant coup to have a pre-season match with quality opposition, great move Eggy.

Tevez: I'm Inter MilanJun 12 2007
Just got this from Middlesbrough Evening Gazette
West Ham's Argentina striker Carlos Tevez has revealed he is "interested" in joining Italian champions Internazionale.
The 23-year-old, who is currently preparing for this month's Copa America in Venezuela, moved to Upton Park from Brazilian side Corinthians at the start of last season in what later proved a hugely controversial switch.
But after securing Barclays Premier League survival for Alan Curbishley's side with the solitary strike during a 1-0 win over Manchester United on the final day of the season, speculation has increased that he will leave the Londoners this summer.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with Tevez but, with international team-mates Hernan Crespo, Julio Cruz, Walter Samuel, Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Zanetti, Nicolas Burdisso, Mariano Gonzalez and Santiago Solari already plying their trade at the San Siro, it seems Serie A may now be his favoured destination.
"I know Inter is interested in me," said Tevez.
"It would be nice to play in Italy, especially in a team that has so many Argentinians.
"There will be some meetings, some discussions, but I really don't know anything official yet."

Terry take photos, LMFAO! Be plenty of the ceiling, floor, blurred close ups etc. Sorry Tel.
What's with the shite 2 weeks Mr West Ham Bret?
Lets go large on Saturday lads, no game to watch but Boro will be present. Let's let them know who were are.
Yeah plenty of talk about Tevez. But if the asking price is true, 30 mill, then there's only a handful of clubs worlwide that could come up with that sort of dough. And although Tevez was awesome for us, it did take him some time to get into the league and I reckon clubs looking at him will need a little more convincing. So as I see it, it'd be a massive gamble to spend that sort of cash on a guy who's still green to European football.
I reckon he'll be running around the pitch for us for another season, then he might leave. Ashton and Tevez up front, gives me a hard on just thinking about it.
2) kitbag have some pretty huge discounts on last seasons stuff at the moment. And for some reason it gets even cheaper when you add it to the cart. :-

Well it turns out I'm a complete twat because there I was at 4pm last Saturday wondering where everyone was! What a dick! So I won't be there, sorry guys, but I'll have a drink for ya at home or something.
As for my own history it all started in 1998 when I started watching the EPL on SBS and started to notice that I liked West Ham's style of play. I also admired some of the players (eg Trev S, Rio, Shaka) so started to follow them. Simple as that - no family history or anything. Started to get right into them a lot more in about 2002 when I was able to watch them more regularly (thanks in part to having finished uni, and SBS again) and also follow them via internet. Never looked back. It helps that there are a LOT of WHUFC fans out there - I always seem to be meeting them, including my physio who actually got offered a job at Charlton but knocked it back coz he's a WHUFC fan! Ironically it was the relegation that made me a true hardcore fan, for two reasons, one was that I realised there was no way I could ever really support another team (although I tried with Portsmouth, it was never going to happen) and secondly coz I was able to go to the first playoff final at the PnW and experience what it was like as a WHUFC fan through and through and would never have it any other way!

whubris - yes you are a dick sorry mate but I nearly pissed myself when I got a text from you at 4:15 Saturday saying where is everybody have I got the wrong week. lol Nah you're a great dick though and it's a shame you wont be there.
Canning town - my history.
Where do we start? I'm English and have been is Australia nearly 5 years. In the 6 years preceding my emmigration I had held a season ticket with my best mate in the Bobby Moore lower.
I started supporting West Ham around 86/87 because a friend of my mum's supported them and then he took me to my first game in 1989, a div 2 game vs Bournemouth in which we won 4-1. Julian Dicks scored from the penalty spot and Bournemouth were captained by Jamie Redknapp and managed by Harry. It was also Frank McAvennie's first substitute appearance since Chris Kamara broke his leg at the start of that season.
My old man was a Chelsea fan but he had very little involment in my life so I said fuck off, bollox you're a cunt!

My Story
In year 6, (1987) I won a man of the match award for my schoold soccer team.
recieved a magazine about the FA CUP with lots of stickers of team emblems.
They had ranked the team 1-100 in success in the FACUP.
My fav number 13. The team 13th was West Ham.
Been following them ever since.

My Story
I'm English, 43, been here since 1992, met my wife in U.K in 1990, we have a 4 year old daughter.
I lived in Basingstoke (just down the road from Dave in Fleet)and my Mum worked next door to a sports shop that was opening. At the opening they needed a boy to pose with the star footballer who was opening the store, Geoff Hurst. I was that boy and my love affair with the Hammers started then at age 8. I have the dodgy photos somewhere and I'll try and dig one out! There were only 2 West Ham fans in my year, most were Arsenal or Leeds or Chelsea but the other bloke was also the hardest in the year, so I was alright ;-)

my story...I'm 40, started playing football when I was 7 in 1974. All the kids had a team, mostly mancs, liverpool etc. When West Ham made the cup final in 75 I started supporting them partly cause I liked to be a bit different. I went to UK for the 1st time in 1990/1991 and followed them up & down the country for 12 months with my wife Carole(who is English from Cheshire, manc family).
Carole was 'converted'after we went to our 1st live match away in Barnsley in Dec 1990 and witnessed the passionate away supporters singing Billy Bonds Claret Blue Army etc..had tickets to the 1991 cup final confirmed through a relative, before the heartbreak of the semi loss to Forest..15 years on we went over for the cup final last year to make amends..we might have got beat but as they say it was one of the best cup finals of modern times!!
I had been involved in west ham email lists and stuff for years but was pretted wrapped a few seasons ago to find Dave & Graeme & Brisbane Hammers..

Ill give my story and hop on the band wagon. I was 7, just moved to england and started school. First question i got was, what team do you support. Course i had no fucking idea, so went home and asked my dad and West Ham was the answrer. Not entirely sure why we go for West Ham exactly but ive taken it up fairly passionatly.
Anyway for the next 2 years in england i lived and breathed Football. Went to Upton Park on a number of occasions and managed to only see them lose once. (Think it was bolton 1-0 in a cup match).
Anyway last time i saw them play at UP was either just before or just after christmas '97. And now i really miss it

Sure was, and I remember at the time thinking should I change clbs as I hated the word West in Sports Team Names, anywho couldn't decide on how to redecide so I stuck with the Hammers.
All it was in the early years was checking the Pink Pages in the Courior Mail on a Monday for tables and results. My step father bought me my first West Ham jersey when he went back home. Still have it, he also bought back some magazines and a yearbook, though I think they are gone. Loaned them to a Palace fan in Yr 12 I think.

Risky - I need you to buy one - I'm 450 down ATM which I need to recoup - you think you have money worries - I'm losing a grand a month at the moment with a 400k mortgage on one salary. lol
BTW - Apparently Lucas has snubbed us for a holiday in Figi on the way to the asian championships. No already booked so couldn't fit us in. He was in Brisbane yesterday, flew to Sydney last night and out to Figi today. Bugger! Big thanks to Richard for trying.

The ironic thing is that I lived in Brisbane between 1989 and 2000.Where were all you guys then!
All I know is if foxtel, the internet and the Brisbane Hammers were around in the 90's, I'd probably still be a single man today!

to beggers and micky:- Were Boro there for a wake?????? Awesome that Boro got the Hump????????? Grow up FFS!!! You might not have noticed that the Boro fans were all there having a great family day out, with wives and kids in tow, and we weren't bothered about you singing. The only one that left when it got a bit loud was Schwarzer, but he'd been great and a good sport with all of the fans whoever they support. The Hammers fans I talked to throughout the day were good blokes. The story I heard was quite different to your story beggers, My mate who is 47 was in the bog, when a couple of drunk Hammers tried taking the piss out of him, so he had a few words and being 47 and all grown up walked away and went back to sit with his wife and another Boro fan with his wife(the only Boro fans left in the pub) So well done to whoever was the pair of mouths (hard men) Grow up or stick to lemonade if you can't have a drink without getting all mouthy. The difference between them and us????????? FFS grow up. Where you 1 of the 6 lads who were asked to leave the Pig on Saturday night for being drunk and out of order??????? I was in the Pig when you knocked us out of the FA Cup last season 15 of us and 150 West Ham, no trouble at all, but then again you won, wonder what would have happened if you lost????????

to be fair TT, Beggers only made the wake comment after the Boro guy had a pop about us making a lot of noise about nothing...
We had a good time having a sing song and your lot had a good time chatting, no big deal.
Props to Boro for organising MS. I thought he was a very good sport and a top geezer :)

TT, don't know about your mate and his incident, I was on my own and the bloke who spoke to me was in his 20's, at a guess? I walk in for a slash and he provokes me so I react. Nothing nasty just verbal. But I didn't start anything. It caught me off guard TBH.
Things happen and there was no harm done. Just booze talking I suspect.
Anyway let's not turn this into something it's not. I only mentioned it as I was shocked at being hassled.
It was a great night and your guys did well to get MS there, thought he was a top man. I spoke to several of your crew on the night, no problems, why would there be and we probably spoke at the FA Cup semi. I've no bad blood toward the bloke, you or any of the Boro mob mate.
Mickys cool just sticking up for his own which is what I did and you are doing now.
Moving on....
Micky struggling with this shirt mate. Bloke reckons I ordered XXXL, it's not right but I've no documentation to prove otherwise. I know a few other blokes want shirts so maybe he can put a smaller order in? I'll keep you posted. Real sorry for the fuck up Micky.

Not sure who it was setting his lip up to my mate though, but your right all forgotten

well we know some of the Hammers on this blog can get a bit on the rowdy side at times... yes I'm looking squarely at a few in particular! But it's not all the time, for example the FA Cup final was a fantastic night out with the WHUFC and LFC fans mingling and getting along really well.

TT - I've sent you an email mate. I think your guys are tops and you always get the odd guys that play up. Send our apolgies to your mate and I hope his judgement of us is not too clouded. I'm looking forward to future Brisbane events involving the 2 clubs as we are 2 of the best supported in Brisbane.

Snubbed by Bent and the Scousers Unsettling Yossi - WTF is going on?
So Bent thinks he can join a bigger club does he? Well that's fine cos you're too expensive anyway Darren! I hope Curbs turns his attentions to a striker of equal or greater quality but better value for money but why do I get the feeling we're going to be signing an average English player and paying over the odds? Dunno just going on current bids.
I'm a little dissapointed as I thought Bent would certainly improve the dynamic of the team but if he doesn't want to play for our great club then fuck him - he can go to the yids which is where I think he'll end up.
Liverpool are trying to sieze the moment and unsettle Yossi whilst his contract remains unsigned. From the comments I've read from his agent it appears they have been tapped up which has caused them to stall on signing the deal that they had verbally agreed to (does a verbal acceptance not constitute a legal binding contract?? Hmmm). Liverpool have reportedly come in with a derisory offer which some quarters say is 3M and others 1M - either way the offer is pathetic and insulting!

Enjoy playing Scunthorpe retard. How good does he think he is? Fuck him, we were mad to go for him IMO. He just isn't that good.
If you're talking that sort of money, there must be quite a few 'berbatove'esq type players in Europe who'd be itching for the chance to play in the EPL? We need to look outside England IMO. British players have become too expensive and most just aren't good enough.
Think Dave might be right, with what appears to be no scouting outside England, we're more than likely to end up with a wannabe at ridiculous fees. Where are the 'world Class' players Eggy?
Anyway, it's the midfield and LB that needs attention sharpish. Darren Bent, do me a favour!!! What a never was!
This Yossi stuff is a real worry. What is going on? Curbs should be tracking Yossi down and getting him to sign NOW!

only trouble is they need time to settle in EPL..even Tevez took time though it didn't help that Pardew didn't know how to play him..man marking ffs.
Personally I will be happy if we don't sign Bent @ 16-18m and 75k a week..talk about having a larf.
What we do & don't do about strikers hinges around next weeks talks with Tevez..if he goes we will have to do something. Even with Ashton's return, Ashton, Bobby & Cole won't cut it on their own...just not enough options/depth.
As for Yossi he has been bitching and moaning about this and that for too long. He was right in the middle of all the team disharmony at the outset and I think despite moments of brilliance the ledger will show he hasn't been a consistent performer week in week out for us. I think Berkovich had more flair in attack...

NM, Tevez was playing in front of a side with no heart and maybe Sth Americans do need time to settle but I'm talking about European players from similar leagues like the Dutch league or Bundasliga. Look at Berbatov and Kuyt. They slipped straight in there. All's I'm saying is that we need to look futher than the UK. I mean 18mill squid for Bent! FFS still can't believe it!

Bent = 3rd highest scorer in EPL over last 2 seasons. It was big money but like Tony said garunteed goals which you wouldn't get from an import in his first season. Not saying I disagree with you but see where Tony is coming from.
What concerns me is that Curbs is only signing players he knows and doesn't seem to want to take a gamble - maybe he doesn't trust his own judgement on overseas players.

I know what NM trying to say, but I not with you on this one lads. Just seems a bit narrow minded to me. I mean Sir Alex gets Rohnaldo, he's just got another Portugese bloke and a brazillain, also talk of Torres(Spanish striker),and another sriker from Sampdoria. He's looking outside the box. Wonder why he's not in for Bent after all he is the 3rd highest scorer in the league for the last 2 seasons!! Come to think of it it's only us and Spuds who've shown any interest at all. Better ring Ripley! Come on he's the only striker Charltons got who else is gonna score?. Shit I reckon I could get 10 for Charlton!
I've no doubt that an 18 mill player(s) from one of the other European leagues would score you goals in the first season. For that sort of money he'd/they'd be playing regular international football which is more than I can say for Bent.
You've gotta take chances to progress but Bent, Bellamy, Johnson are just not the answer for me. And they are way too expensive.
I don't mind Bent but he's not 18 mill and he didn't want to play for us from the start. Why chase him at all?
Still plenty of time though so I will be keeping the faith in Curbs and Eggy I'm just a little bit nervous after this episode in the West Ham soap opera.
Who dares wins!!!!

Curbs isn’t capable of identifying, signing and utilising foreign players. Berbatov wouldn’t make it into our team.
Expect expensive safe-bet mediocre English signings.
Curbs out.

Looks like it is a done deal, 15 mill pounds plus Harewood and Mullins 18 mill all up...
thats alot of money to pay for bent if you ask me. He is a clinical striker IMO but 18 mill worth? Bit expensive if you ask me...
should have had a crack at Tuncay Sanli who could play upfront and on the left from Turkey, great player and will be a good signing for Boro was available on a free.

I think we have to look at it without the money clouding our judgement. It's a ridiculous sum of money but will Darren Bent improve our team = yes. Everybody thought 7.5M was alot for Ashton at the time and bar his injury he has shown what a quality player he is. If Tevez is here next year then we will have four great strikers to choose from and if he is not here then I'm still quite excited about an Ashton/Bent partnership and Zamora waiting in the wings champing at the bit to get in the side.

Dave you make a good point. He will definitely improve the team and would work well with any other striker such as Ashton and hopefully Tevez.
I guess i bring up the money and thing you could possibly get a couple of players at a better or at least the same value for that much money.
Still reckon we muffed the Tuncay signing, ive seen him play a fair bit for turkey and fenerbahce and he is a versatile skilfull forward with pace and the bigger the game, the better he plays. He would have been perfect for us.
anyway hope bent does sign i wont be too disappointed he at least is a proven performer at prem league level.

Dave just on the money for Bent, I guess looking at the money i start thinking of Anderson and Nani, two youngsters with Ronaldinho and Christiano Ronaldo potential that were signed for less.
The question is whether they would have come to the Hammers in the first place. Either way the team is looking quite solid for next season and hopefully they can continue to slowly strengthen the squad.

Marlon isn't part of the deal from what I can gather.
Its not just the 18mill its also the wages of 75k week...thats a boat load of cash..sure it's Eggies cash but it'll bite us somewhere...I can't help thinking Eggie got sucked in to a pissing contest with Spurs. Not sure if we won or lost! The yids don't pay anyone more than 50k and offered Bent only 35k!
No doubt the Eggmeister is hannging his hopes on the new stadium with a higher capacity..big stadium = evil but then the alternative is the season ticket price at UP will go through the roof.
I'd have preferred Obefemi Martins or Berbatov than Bent personally.

Yeah Norvern we're spending money and paying waqes like Leeds were a few seasons ago. I hope eggy knows what he's doing. I'm in 2 minds over Bent like I said he improves our team so we should be happy but should we be going for somebody else for that money and are we setting ourselves up for a problem with extravegant wages?

beggers, the back's getting there mate, thanks. i'm still sore from the op wound but the main problem of the leg and back pain is gradually reducing. it's a slow process of physio and hydrotherapy but i'm on schedule according to my surgeon. i'm gonna try and get down to the pig tomorrow to grab a shirt and have a chinwag. it'll only be a pop-in i'm afraid but it'll be good to catch up with you guys again ;-)

Neill hints at Curbs' shopping list
In an interview on ABC TV yesterday, Lucas Neill ran off a list of players that Curbishley is looking at. All but one are Aussies, suggesting either Neill has a fanciful bias or he's been talking with Curbs about his teammates... At any rate the list was, in the order that I recall:
Eidur Gudjonnsen
Vince Grella (brilliant!!)
Mark Viduka
Tim Cahill
Likely? Who knows? But if we could get our mitts on Grella and/or Cahill....

Apparently reading elsewhere Neill has had a chat about some of his teammates to Curbs and has said he would like an Aussie or two to be drafted into the side.
Grella, i dont know if he will handle the premier league its far too fast and he simply doesnt have the pace or the range of passing to compensate, i could be wrong, i love Grella but IMO he is far better suited to Italy and Spain, and is a fantastic DCM in those leagues.
Cahill would be a good signing but i cant see how or why he would leave.
Viduka i dont think is interested in us, but the club has been linked with him.
It makes for interesting reading thats for sure.
I have to say that we have kept things very quiet, in the transfer market thats for sure.

reported that Curbs number 1 priority is Bentand Charlton are asking £18million with Marlon perhaps being offered as part payment.
Dave & I had a discussion the other day about why should we give a fuck if we have to pay a bit more than what they are worth as long as we get them but somewhere along the way if you consistently fork out over the odds there will be an impact...if you pay £2m or £3m over the odds for each of 5 players then that's £10m that could have picked up a quality player.
How many other clubs would be prepared to pay £18m for Bent? £12m, maybe £15m, *maybe* but £18m is just getting crazy imho.

Yeah stupid money being mentioned for Bent, Johnson etc. I reckon it's all media beat up. Journo bullshit 'cause thay know we've got cash.
I can't see us paying anywhere near that sort of money for those type of players. Yes we've got cash but we also have time and although I'm as keen as the next bloke to get some good players in, I think some patience are in order.
Forget all this 18 mill crap, stay at Charlton and enjoy Scunthorpe away. 18 mill! LMFAO!

I'd rather we got mini judas back from the yids for 10m than waste 18m on Bent.
