Newham Recorder - an absolute disgrace!
The headline and first paragraph say it all (click on the image to see a bigger version). What a fucking stupid thing to say. Hope this wanker, and the editor, get sacked over this.
Feel free to send the idiot an email.

I have respect for the Newham recorder and I think the glorious Stevie Bacon is snapping for them still.
An honest report is ruined by s disgusting headline. We all feel the passion and the pain but there is no need for that.

My email - I copied the editors in also which I got from their website....
I have a lot of respect for your paper (I used to read it on a regular basis before emigrating to Australia). However much as I agree with the content of your report and feel in a similar regard I must voice my discontent at your headline and opening paragraph comparing the sham that has graced our beloved club this season with that of a loved one being raped. I think you have crossed ethical journalism boundaries here and could offend an awful lot of people. My emotions have been ripped to shreds this season by the goings on at Upton Park but to compare it to something like my wife being raped is down right offensive and sickening.
I run the Brisbane Hammers supporters club here in Australia and have heard several murmurs of disgust at this headline and opening paragraph from within our ranks. We all feel the passion and the pain of WHU but I’m afraid if you think these comparisons to rape are necessary then you need to get a reality check.
Regards
Dave

Floaters' Guide To...Tottenham Hotspur
Excerpt.
Hello...The Phone-In Phrases
"Hi Alan, essentially I'm ringing to say whatever happened to the good old glory-glory style of the Spurs of old, eh? That up-and-at-'em spirit that swept all before it - I mean I know I wasn't alive to see it, after all I'm only 45, but I'm told by many of my fellow fans that we were really quite something and I jolly well think it's time we got back to that principle. I mean who cares if we lose, I'd rather watch a good game, wouldn't you, after all we're all at the heart of things basically football fans, that is, fans of football..."

Why should we be charged when the FA allowed them to be registered in the first place?
Surely they knew the situation and should have looked into it.
Doesn't look good though:
A.F.C. Wimbledon
# FA Trophy: Expelled from competition. After beating Conference side Gravesend & Northfleet 1-0 in a fourth round match, the club was charged by the Football Association with fielding an ineligible player, Jermaine Darlington. On 25 January 2007, a disciplinary hearing decided that the club was to be expelled from the competition and was also ordered to pay back the £7000 in prize money that it had won. Gravesend & Northfleet were subsequently reinstated into the competition. For the same offence, AFC Wimbledon also received an 18 point penalty deduction and £400 fine from the Isthmian League [6]

During the interval, however, consensus was achieved and part two of the bleak saga was undertaken with defiant merriment and touching bluster. By the time Charlton scored their fourth, the Claret and Blue army were lost in ribald incantation - specifically the song, to the tune of "I love you baby": "Oh Christian Dailly, you are the love of my life, oh Christian Dailly, I'd let you shag my wife, oh Christian Dailly I want your curly hair too".
Momentarily the Charlton fans cheered the triumph of their fourth but as the roar died down they discerned with horror that the Dailly ballad had continued unaffected by the goal. Jack says the home crowd looked on with one face of awe, unable to comprehend the unbending faith of the Irons.
