I hope Wigan go down, so rent-a-quote xenophobe Dave Whelan loses what tiny relevance he has to top flight football in England.

Hi All, Got discharged from hospital (back op went well) just in time to watch the game last night. What a great performance. I've had no internet access for nearly 2 weeks so I'm very much outta the loop plus while my back op is healing I can only sit for 10 mins. Here's hoping we smash Fat Sam then we may just scrape over the line. Looking forward to some photos from the Pig last night???

Holy fucking shit i was not expecting this. This could be bad, or a blessing in disguise for this weekends game.
Source BBC:
Allardyce resigns as Bolton boss
Sam Allardyce has resigned as manager of Bolton with immediate effect.
He has been linked with the manager's role at Manchester City and refused to attend the post-match press conference after Saturday's 2-2 draw with Chelsea.
He said: "This has been one of the hardest decisions I've ever made but it's time for a new exciting era for Bolton under different leadership."
Chairman Phil Gartside added: "I have reluctantly accepted the decision. His reasons are private, we respect that."
More to follow.
is this the 5th time an epl clubs manager has left or been changed this season.
I still have only had 4 hours sleep. Now im gonna get it back. G'Night

westham5096, I'll post about the Adelaide meet up as soon as its confirmed on foxtel.
re Fat Sam I think it might be good for us. I assume they will only put in a caretaker since the season is nearly over. Bolton will be in a wtf is going on mode rather than preparing to play us.
Fulham lost this morning.
Its all good.

With only 2 games to go I don't think the players will get up for a caretaker manager, but I still think they be formidable.

Great night at the Pig, well worth the trip up. Suffered for it Sunday mind, but it was a small price to pay.
Watched the reply on Sunday as well. Mate we played some lovely stuff, easily the best performance I've seen from us this season. It was all on show, passion, committment, skill the lot. To a player they all put their hand up and played their hearts out. A superb display.
Special mention for LBM and Macarthy, both of whom I've thought have been dodgey to say the least. But LBM finally woke from his slumber took his goal well, tracked back, got stuck in, looked dangerous in attack, basically looked worth the money for a change. Macarthy was outstanding, his run down the left for the second goal was awesome and he threw himself at everything. Oh and Bobby Zamora, what a game! did everything asked of him up front and was a right pain in the arse for Wigan. But also defensively it was him who seemed to clear any corner or free kick they got into the box. I really like the guy and although he's not the most skillful around his willingness to put his hand up every week says it all for me.
Bolton, this game has me worried sick, it always has done. They are a good, solid side who, with the exception of the FA Cup game last year, seem to have our measure. We did give away some bad free kicks, not far outside our box against Wigan and we all know that'll be gravy for Bolton.
We'll need a similar performance against Bolton and hope they are not on their game, but I fear this may be 'a game too far'.
Beexie, how's the back?

I have to say I thought Wigan flattered us a bit...they were pure shite and while we played very well, they didn't make it that difficult at all.
And Bolton this weekend might be the next (and last) loop on the roller coaster :-(

What trouble did you get in Risky?
Yeah Norven, Wigan were not good but in saying that we jumped on'em whenever we could, we gave them no space at all and let's not forget that usually this is the sort of team/game that we'd let slip. However, Bolton will be a lot harder to breakdown and to contain that's for sure.
I've still got a bad feeling somethings not gonna go our way.

Hi All,
Just to let you know that my back op went very well and I was discharged on Saturday just in time to witness our crushing of Wigan. Thanks for all your kind words and support. I hope to see you down the Pig sometime soon for a beer or 12 (haven't had a drink for 9 months cos of the meds I've been on so I've got some catching up to do) We fly back to Brissy on Thursday and then I have quite a few weeks ahead of intense back rehab but I'm walking and have no pain so I'm very pleased.
Thanks again,
beex
PS - Stayin up, Stayin Up, Stayin Up!

I Didnt keep too badly considering id had like 2 hours sleep. And considering we were facing like the bets team in the comp not to bad.
We lost 3-1 though :P
I was really annoyed with the 2nd goal cos they chipped it to the back post and headed it in and i felt i should have done better> But im pretty happy.

F365 - The Relegation Dogfight
As always, the relegation dogfight has descended into a dark comedy of error and predicting its next act, let alone the final twist, is a mug's game.
So here goes.
Despite the surprise defeat of Europe-bound Everton, West Ham still resemble a drowning man so deep in the mire that only his flailing hand appears above ground.
A paltry 38 points will probably be sufficient for survival, a figure that fourth-from-bottom Sheffield United should reach next weekend against relegated Watford. The Hammers, with a significantly inferior goal difference compared to their rivals, can only better that tally by beating Wigan and Bolton and then avoiding defeat at Old Trafford on the final day. It's a forlorn hope.
By hosting the Hammers next Saturday, Wigan can determine their own destiny. Victory will virtually guarantee Premiership status for another year and condemn the Londoners to the Championship.
Charlton's spring momentum has stalled and the possibility of a re-enactment of the Great Escape receded further on Saturday when Jonathan Stead equalised for the Blades. With Tottenham (h) and Liverpool (a) to follow, the Addicks' trip to Blackburn is a desperate do-or-die mission.
With a pathetic 36 points, Fulham may already have enough to survive. Encounters against Arsenal and Liverpool follow, so the Cottagers could have to wait for the expected home victories at Anfield and Old Trafford on the final day of the season before their survival is finally confirmed.
Interestingly, only once in the past ten years has the traditional 40-point mark proved decisive in the relegation battle. 2003, when West Ham were thrown out with 42 points, was the exception that proves the new rule that 40 points is now unnecessary. West Brom remained in the Premiership in 2005 with just 35 points, a haul that was also sufficient last season.
The market realignment is an accurate reflection of the stranglehold the Big Four has taken over the league. The flipside of the title's ever-decreasing margin for error is that the league's down-and-nearly-outs are feeding on increasingly pathetic scraps.

Maybe Keira Knightly will bring us some luck.
from 2005
Still only 20 years old, the tall, slender Briton has already been described as "the new Elizabeth Taylor", but shows none of the pretensions that most actresses assume when finding themselves fêted by Hollywood. A football fanatic and lifelong supporter of newly-promoted West Ham, she is as at home on the terraces at Upton Park as on the red carpet at a glitzy première. And on Saturday mornings she can be found in her local pub in Santa Monica, watching Premiership football on the television.
"The atmosphere there is amazing," she says. "The games are shown at 6am and the pub is always packed. I plan on watching all the West Ham games I can this season. We're back in the Premiership and we're going to stay up," she predicts confidently.

5.5 Million GBP fine - NO POINTS DEDUCTION!
West Ham have been hit with a whopping 5.5 Million Pounds fine but have escaped a points deduction leaving our Premier League destiny to the football pitch. Also Rumours that Carlos Tevez is unable to play for the rest of the season have been quashed as there was never a question as to whether Tevez's registration had been ratified with the league and he will face Wigan tonight.
Let's hope the players repay the let off by getting results needed in the final 3 games to stay up.
I have maintained throughout this ordeal that we would not get a points deduction and we haven't - phew!

Fine not points likely
Maybe Dave will put more credence in the Times :)
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/tottenham/article1712085.ece
West Ham United are likely to be found guilty and fined when an FA Premier League inquiry announces its verdict today on charges that they acted improperly and withheld vital documentation in the transfers of Carlos Tévez and Javier Mascherano.
The club vigorously defended charges during a hearing in London that lasted just a few hours yesterday and are likely to escape a points deduction.
Jim Sturman, QC, argued before a three-man independent panel that the club were not influenced by Kia Joorabchian, the businessman who owned the rights of the Argentina players, and could have moved them on when he wanted. The club, however, failed to provide relevant documentation for the transfers in August

Well the Times is printing something less controversial and probably closer to the truth. It is obvious that the hearing is happening but anything with regards to the punishment is pure speculation that's all I'm saying. I don't beleive we will be deducted points and if we do get points deducted then I think they will be given back upon appeal.

It was the negative speculation that bothered me, at least this articles positive! Who knows what is fact or fiction? Bottom line is that the lads need to be fully focused on this game and don't need any distractions.
Whatever happens will be down the track that's for sure, what with appeals etc. But it's the now we've got to come to grips with, worry about the football and let the vultures worry about the legal shite.
Hope we get a few numbers tomorrow night? Primed for a big one.
OH EAST LONDON, IS WONDERFUL.....

West Ham handed record £5.5m fine
West Ham have been fined £5.5m after being found guilty over charges relating to the transfers of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
But the Hammers have avoided a points deduction which could have ended their hopes of staying in the Premeirship.
More to follow.

Relegated without kicking another ball?
I know this has been hanging over our head for a while and this is currently only paper talk but the Daily Express is claiming to have seen evidence and statements. Depressing to think that the 12 points from our last 6 games and any future heroics might be in vain...
from http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/5221
WEST HAM are set to be found guilty of fielding two ineligible players and hiding incriminating documents from the Premier League, according to evidence and statements seen by the Daily Express.
Guilty verdicts on the two serious charges relating to third-party ownership of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano will be a mere formality at the two-day hearing to be held at the end of this week, with points deduction a real threat and the only question remaining the severity of West Ham’s punishment.
Although an appeal is inevitable if points are docked, the Hammers could be effectively relegated by the outcome of the disciplinary hearing before a ball is kicked in this weekend’s key game against Wigan.
Inside information has been passed on to us about how West Ham held back documentation to the Premier League.
A Premier League source told me: “There are two very serious charges and in my view there is powerful evidence against West Ham, but of course the commission will decide. There is no doubt that the charges are so serious that points deductions cannot be ruled out.”

The Dailly express is a worse rag than the sun mate. We can only do what we can on the pitch and see what happens.
As far as I'm concerned though they have already set a precedent in that when Spurs were docked points for crimes of a previous regime they were re-instated because it was beyond the current regime's control.

the suggestion is that the points could be docked even before we play our next game so we might not be able to 'concentrate on our games and worry about this later'.
The players can't get focused for 6 pointers at the best of times, how they gonna cope if it comes out that we have been docked points and its all over the press.
Obviously we would appeal and as Dave said be some chance of winning, but if the decision and resultant media circus screws up our mental preparation for the upcoming crucial games the appeal won't matter.
Just my 2c.

We play better when the pressure is off - that's why we struggle in the six pointers then beat the Arsenals and Man Utds! So here is the plan - we get docked 3 points, beat Wigan beat Bolton, then get the three points back on appeal. Go to Old Trafford with 38 points (which may even be enough to stay up).

Like I said Norven - The express is a shameless rag that is just trying to stir it up for us - I do not beleive for one minute there will be a decision on points deduction prior to the Wigan game. The press can suggest what they wish - it is 99% bullshit anyway.

Hey guys.
My wife is away this weekend with the kids and I am looking for something to do. One of my mates suggested we go on a fishing weekend. I'm going to talk him into coming over from Melbourne to join you for the game. You will recognise me with my Irons cap, jumper, scarf and flag. My mate will be wearing the Manure jumper.
Hopefully I can swing things my way to make it across.
Cheers

HAMMERS OFFER FREE TRAVEL TO FANS
West Ham will be roared on by nearly 6,000 fans at Wigan on Saturday after the players and chairman Eggert Magnusson agreed to fund free coach travel to the JJB Stadium.
The Hammers had their request for increased ticket allocation accepted ahead of the vital relegation clash and at least 34 coaches will travel from east London on Saturday morning.
The idea came from captain Nigel Reo-Coker and Lucas Neill and Magnusson was happy to pitch in as the Hammers look to pull off a great escape.

West Ham 1 – Everton 0
Fucking West Ham, you bastards. Either crush our spirit or just stay the fuck up. I can’t take it any longer.
One week all hope is lost and then the next week hope is restored albeit with even slimmer chances, but we still dare to dream. Then you take us to the depths of despair and then the whole bloody process begins again.
WHY?

1-4
Need to win our next 3 games then hope. I think the writings on the wall and in truth probably has been for some time. :-(
Still mathmatically possible and you will always have hope when that is the case.
I feel a bit sad that we're going to see players like Tevez, Yossi & Neill (who has been fantastic the last few weeks) leave.

IT wasnt all to bad in the first half, and if zamora had put the ball past check in those first few minutes of the 2nd half. IT might have been a different game.
*sigh* Oh well

least Collins kicked Drogba in the face. (you know those old movies that show you getting to throw a sponge to dunk a celebrity...how much could you make selling tickets to kick Drogba in the face..mega$$$)
And Collins didn't even get booked .
Had anybody else not even got to sit down from celebrating the Tevez goal before they scored again?
I have no probs with Yossi for Bowyer and jigging the back 4 to leave out Anton but LBM for Matty was st00pid imho.

Lucas Neill was atrocious this morning. Caught ball watching for SWP's second goal and should have done better for Drogba's.

Anon - yeah he's been good in recent weeks tho. I thought he was one of the better performers vs Sheff Utd.
I agree that 2nd Goal was amateur today. I initially blamed Collins for leaving his man but your right - he shouldn't have had to leave his man.
Collins has done ok over the last few weeks and if we do go down I hope he stays and establishes himself at the heart of our defence. I think maybe him and Upson could be the partnership for next season.

I think the Chelsea game just about sums up our year.
We concede super goals,We can't defend set pieces and our defence at times look comical.
Typical of so many matches this season when we go more than a goal down we just give up.
I still live in hope until 2am this Sunday morning.Blackburn knocking over Fulham and probably Charlton doing the blades are the results we need to go our way.
Surely Curbishley can find a team who are willing to fight till the end.
My team for Everton would be
Green
Neill Collins Davenport McCartney
Yossi NRC Noble Etherington
Tevez Zamora

Firstly, good plan Risky. Will do my best to get there if it happens. Don't matter if we're down or not. Might be the last chance to get together for a while. Well at least till this time next year when we'll be in FA Cup final :)
Thought the score line flattered Chelski. Green had bugger all to do but get the ball out of the net and there was the difference, they took their chances and we didn't. LBM and Bobby both had half chances within minutes of the start of the 2nd half and that would've changed everything.
Lucas had a mare for him and was at fault for a couple of goals IMO. But in saying that he's the best defender we've got and he's been a rock in recent weeks so alls forgiven.
Biggest disappointment for me was Yossi and LBM. Unlike norvern I can see why LBM was given a chance as Ethers has been shit all season and I hope he pisses off TBH. But LBM isn't much better. A very good player who looks a shadow of his former self. Same for Yossi. Love the bloke but he doesn't have the impact on the game he used too. We have dearly missed his influence this season.
Anyway, although I HOPED to beat Chelski I never really expected to so the result was no surprise.
HOPE is all we've got now but we'll be playing CCC football next year unless a miracle happens. But we are WEST HAM and miracles don't happen to us.
Anmyway no matter what happens I'll be watching and supporting to the bitter end and always will.

WHY?

There is still hope!
I know you don't think it but there is. Not much has changed since before the weekend. Charlton lost and Wigan drew. If we were to take 4 or 6 points in our next 2 games then it is all back on. Fulham will be lucky if they pick up another point this season and Wigan and Charlton have a rough run of games. I know things didn't happen at the weekend but it wasn't from lack of endeavour. Personally I thought the effort rate was up there and had some of our early chances been capitalised on then it would've been a different game. The 3-0 scoreline was very flattering to Sheffield United and that gives me hope that we will go into the next game with our chins held up high. If we win 3 out of our final 5 games then the odds are we'll stay up - there is hope fellas - don't give up now!

I feel we will beat Chelsea, these are the types of games we do win! Crowd will be up for it, players will too and the pressure is off a little as once more it looks unlikely that we can stay up.
The main problem is that we can't win the crunch games vs those in the depths with us. Watford, Charlton and now Sheff Utd.
Having said that we have a good record at the JJB.
So how about this:
Chelsea WIN
Everton WIN
Wigan WIN
Bolton WIN
Man utd BOTHERED WE WILL BE SAFE!!

the main problem against SU was our execution in the last 3rd of the pitch was shite.
Tevez was out of sorts spurning chances that he should have at least made the keeper save and him and Bob just didn't link up that well at all.
Apart from up front I thought we were ok but Anton to me seems down in confidence and form.
Curbs however worried me. Why bring on Mullins at all? Why take off Matty when he was just starting to get a head of steam up & run through some flimsy defence at will? Had he been watching the game at all?
Sure bring Kepa on and have a run at them but he could have done that intelligently...
Anything less that 3 points against Chelsea will snuff out the light at the end of the tunnel....so lets do those cunts.

Sorry lads, I think we are well and truly gone.
There is the smallest amount of hope of course and that's why I'll be watching the Chelski game like the rest of you but I don't expect to win. Infact I can't see us picking up any other wins at all. Everton and Bolton are both fighting to get into Europe and will play accordingly, chelski, manure, say no more and Wigan and we have shown we can't beat teams around us.
Usually Dave is the face of reality but even he still thinks we can actually stay up!
I admire you all for keeping the faith but I'm stuggling.
I hope to Christ I'm wrong and will gladly accept being slagged off if I'm wrong. Pls God let me be wrong!!!

Gotta hand it to Eggy, he'll try anything.
Opera singer Cortes to lift West Ham
West Ham United are turning to Icelandic opera singer Gardar Thor Cortes for inspiration before the relegation battlers face champions Chelsea on Wednesday.
Cortes, a compatriot of West Ham's Icelandic chairman Eggert Magnusson, will sing Hammers anthem "I'm forever blowing bubbles" and "Nessun Dorma" -- an aria from Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot -- before kickoff at Upton Park.

I think we are screwed. We need a miracle if we are going to survive and we definetly cant play like we did vs sheffield. I now dont expect us to survive so if we do it will be a bonus. It would be nice to go down with a bang though and beat man u and cost them the title. I hope fox sports show lots of the west ham championship games on tv next season.

Come what may, I believe that a year (maybe 2 but hopefully not) in the fizzy pop will be a positive long term outcome for WHU.
You can see that we lose to teams around us because we don't have the physical toughness anymore. The Hammers have lost it and can get it back in the CCC. It will bring toughness back into the side (well needed)and bring the hunger back to UP.
So whether we stay up or not its all good!!
PS. I'll still be watching and hoping

Brisbane Hammers: Sheff Utd game on Fox
This weekend's do or die clash at Sheff Utd is live on foxtel @ 11.55pm this Saturday 14th April.
I wont be out this weekend as I've had quite a full on week and need to stay at home & support my family but I will be cheering on the hammers from the comfort of my sofa. If any of you fancy it the Pig n Whistle will be showing the game for sure so go down and have another meet with the lads. Hopefully I'll be able to come out for at least one more game this season. Anyway if you want to suss out what everybody is doing - use the comments on this thread to organise yoursleves.
We had a huge support at the pig n whistle last week for the win against the gooners and I expect you'll all be itching to get out there and cheer on the lads again!
Also the Chelsea game will be televised on fox this Thursday morning - kick off 4:45am.

To answer your question in full Stu, Foxtel is like Sky in England. It has foxsports 1,2 & 3 just like sky has skysports 1,2 & 3. FYI I think the weekend's game is on foxsports 2. :-)

I will be there. Last week vs Arsenal was great but this week i will be heaps nervous as this game is crucial for survival. I think we will win it 2-1.

This game and the Wigan game are the real nailbiters methinks. Arsenal was a bonus win so that's good. I feel we need to contain Sheff Utd as they're gonna try and out scrap us. It's gonna be like a Championship game this one and I for one am glad we got Mark Noble and Lee Bowyer scrapping in the middle for us. Hopefully our extra quality will see us win narrowly but I think it's gonna be a real dirty game this one. 2-1 to us.

Luc, for some things we are truly thankful!
Terry: I always get nervous when Hammers fans start making predictions, I hope you're right.
I should be along too. As it is only my second Brisbane Hammers match I'll probably bring the Doris along for moral support - no one's to laugh at her sunburn incurred by wearing a cross-body bag (you get the picture!)

I think the Norven Monkeys had 3 shots and scored each time, we had 3 and got none! Poor finishing from the strikers today as well, including Tevez.
Just not good enough. Absolutely no midfield today. No width, no energy, no enthusiasm, no skill, nothing! You'd never no we were fighting for our survival.
Sheffield were also useless and I hope they also get relegated, they are crap!
We will have to play teams like this every week in the CCC. It will not be pretty and every bastsrd will want to give us a kick'n being a 'BIG CLUB' so we better get some balls real quick.

Well at least I can watch us now ;-)
On the optimistic side I had us down for a draw on this one and a loss against L'Arse so we ended up with 2 more points than I thought. What is it with us?? Fuckin buncha kunce. I think that the reality is that the bottom of the league is like the Championship and those teams that can scrap will survive and those (like us) that can't are doomed. We can't seem to find a balance between flair and grit. Dunno....very disappointed by this result but can't say I'm really surpised :-(

Typical Fucking West Ham, They gave me such hope after Arsenal and then break my heart. Weve lost every important 6 pointer this year but somehow do the double over arsenal.
Tevez missed a sitter, Neill was unlucky and anton did exactly what he did against the yids. I knew as soon as he gave it away it would be 1-0 to sheffield.
FUCKING HELL!

Faith?
If you look back over the comments on previous articles on this site you see that somebody or many questioned my faith. I recall stating that if we won our next 3 games I would start to beleive we could survive. Well since that disapointing 3-4 defeat against those shitty yids we have now won our last 3 games including an astonishing win at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
I have faith - misguided maybe - but I sincerely do have faith. Come on you rip roaring goal scoring hammers!

well well well..... what can i say finally destiny back in our hands beat sheffield and wigan and we could just about be there. As for last nite obviously all the fooltball gods are HAMMERS fans,i can honestly say that my faith has never waivered for the mighty irons , the passion and desperation that they showed was truely the Hammers of old, Time will now tell what we are destined for next year but keep the faith and the passion, and i believe its Premier league football for us NEXT YEAR. :)

Couldn't make the match at the Pig, but did get to watch it at home. Fucking hell Le Arse play some beautiful stuff but Rob Green was a man possessed!. He was truly brilliant. Apparently the team gave him a standing ovation when he walked into the dressing room and rightly so, he was awesome. Bet Sheffield are shitting themselves. Hope we don't get complacent just get angry.
C'MON YOU IRONS!!!!
PS, How many made the Pig? Any Le Arse support?

Checked the rejects web page, no news on a tour of Oz. Spew'n.
Back to West Ham, I'm over the euphoria of beating the Arse and had a look at our run in. Every team we play has something to play for, no mid table try hards unfortunately. Sheffield and Wigan won't lie down, Everton and Bolton are tying to get into Europe and Manure and Chelscum .. well you know. So the upshot is we'll have to play every game like a cup final. Survival is definately a possibility, but we'll have to win at least 3 games IMO and hope those around us lose more than they win. Don't mean to sound morbid, but that's the reality. This weekends game is as big as it gets for us this season. Win and confidence will be high as, lose and Scunthorpe beckons.

F365 - West Ham
Somehow, and Alan Curbishley's sheepish look on Saturday night suggested he wasn't sure either, West Ham are threatening to usurp Harry Houdini. Quite how they managed to defeat Arsenal despite only escaping their penalty area twice in 90 minutes is a mystery to be bracketed alongside the whereabouts of Lord Lucan and the identity of Jack the Ripper.
In truth, West Ham are not playing well, yet neither are Sheffield United, whom Curbishley's side face next Saturday. Their season is in distinct danger of being catastrophically defined by Rob Hulse's injury on March 17. If the Hammers' luck holds then Neil Warnock's side are especially vulnerable in an increasingly intriguing dogfight at the bottom.
Fulham, booed off on Monday after losing at home to Man Citeh, are also in rapid decline and it is certainly conceivable that they will not earn another point this season. The visit of Blackburn is their sole relatively attractive fixture. Otherwise, it is difficult to believe that they will win at either Middlesbrough or Reading, while Arsenal and Liverpool complete their round of remaining fixtures.
Wigan, five points clear of the Hammers having played an additional match, could yet prove the pivotal players in this season's battle for survival. On April 28, the team of moanaholic Paul Jewell will host the Londoners and there is the intriguing possibility of the Latics facing the Blades on the final day of the season in a match of the must-win variety for both sides if they are to be certain of retaining their Premiership status.

Crazy as it sounds I think our run in is to our advantage. We seem to do better against teams that are playing well and playing for something. I believe that finally the team has realised the desperate situation we are in and have girded up the loins and now are playing for something, either that or they are just teasing us for all the shite we have heaped on them (justly deserved) this season.
We are going to do it!!!!

If we’re going to do it, then I’d like it done before the ManYoo away game. They’re going to need those points and lord help us if they go into that game level with Chelsea needing to improve their goal difference.

I have a 14 year old brother over from England - will he be able to attend if he keeps a low key, or are they harsh?

If all goes to plan I may be able to tie this in with a weting the baby's head type of thing. Main reason is I'd really like to see Graham (whubris) before he departs for Canberra. The missus is being induced this arvo so if all goes to plan baby should arrive tomorrow and if i get the nod should be able to wet the baby's head at the pig n whistle Saturday.

Been camping this past week with no access to the net so I'm a bit behind.
Stoked with the win against Boro, still think we are done for but making all around us sweat will do for now.
Dave, all the best with the bub. I trust you have all the appropriate WH attire the baby will need? Hopefully can catch up Saturday night.
HH, must be doable, one of my mates got his young lad permission to watch the playoff games so why not this weekends match? I reckon you should ring'em and ask.
C'MON YOU IRONS!!!!!!!

Back on to the subject of club shirts, does anyone know where I can get an 86 WHU AVCO shirt? They used to have them in the club shop (stupidly didn't get one while I was home last year). If anyone could help it would be fantastic!!

Excellent! I'll give them a bell tomorrow.
The huge problem is keeping him low-key. Even at the age of 14, he's ridiculously passionate, and despises Arsenal.

Anon, great to hear your lads passionate and we all hate Le Arse so he'll be in good company. Don't worry about being low key, let him go for it, he'll be surrounded by his own who are a bit noisy themselves.
About the Avco shirts, if the club shop doesn't stock them, try a search for retro football shirts, I recall seeing a few old strips on other sites, not sure if you'll get what you want but it's worth a try.

Congratulations Dave, really happy for you all mate. I'm afraid West Ham may have to cope tonight as I'm destined to watch this game. I think we need to see if I'm really affecting the results that much and I believe that a game that we all had probably written off a while ago will be ok. Sorry fellas but I really need to watch this one ;-)I'm so superstitious that I'll probably talk myself around and not watch it anyway but you have been warned!!!

Hammers 2 - 0 Boro
Two victories on the bounce! Too late? We'll have to wait and see. To me the next 2 games are critical. Arsenal next week and they are not on good form - a gutsy performance from us could see an upset but we will have to work for it. Then 3 points vs Sheffield United is the most important 3 points of the season.
Back to the game. A very accomplished performance - perhaps the most assured performance of the season. No players really to critisise - stand out players for me were Noble, Tevez & Zamora. Zamora's 2nd minute opener smashed into the bottom corner after some great work by Tevez down the wing set the game up for West Ham to dominate. A hatful of chances went begging until Tevez picked up the spills in the 6 yard box in the 43rd minute to smash a hole in the net to make it 2-0.
There is hope, however slight - it is there! Bring on the gooners!

I forgot my deal with you guys, went to bed early and set my alarm to watch the game on the internet. When I tried I couldn't get a feed so gave up. So I still didn't watch the game and we're still winning!

Risky - Charlton away was a low point for me mate. I still think those 2 lost games vs Charlton and Watford could make all the difference at the end of the season.

Well Well, who would of thought that Carlos and Noble would be the 2 that start and continue the turn around in West Hams fortune.
Carlos could easily gone 'bugger this WestHam Team, I'm going to Europe at the end of the season', and Young Mark has put himself about like RoyKeane in his hey day.
Now for some shameless self promotion http://gindimeatheads.blogspot.com/

From Football 365 Winners and Losers
And we were in the Winners column. yay!
Charlton
Unbeaten in their past four matches. Their next four opponents are: Man Citeh (away), Reading (home), Everton (away), Sheffield United (home).
West Ham
At least the Hammers were being honest a month ago. Now they are just being cruel.
The Hammers were relegated from the Premiership on March 4, if not February 24. Since those defeats to Tottenham and Charlton they've joined the ranks of the living dead. To feign life and suggest hope through two fortunate victories will only succeed in prolonging their supporters' agony.
Carlos Tevez
The signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano are an enduring mystery of the 2006/07 season. Heralded as the spark that would enable West Ham "to challenge the best in Europe", the FA may yet judge their acquisition illegal and swiftly banish the Hammers to the English second-tier with a hefty points deduction.
From a purely footballing perspective, the mystery is why the Hammers, under the tutelage of the two Alans, Pardew and Curbishley, failed so spectacularly to integrate the two Argentines into their teams. Only now, when it is too late, is Tevez displaying his frenetic quality, while Mascherano's class is serving new employers.
Their mis-use should consign the two Alans to the rank of mid-management for the rest of their careers. Incredibly, Curbishley admitted on Saturday that his decision to include Tevez was based on the decibel levels inside Upton Park. "The crowd were singing for him, I didn't know too much about him and he hadn't scored, but the crowd kept singing for him," he admitted. "It put a bit of pressure on me."
