5.5 Million GBP fine - NO POINTS DEDUCTION!

West Ham have been hit with a whopping 5.5 Million Pounds fine but have escaped a points deduction leaving our Premier League destiny to the football pitch. Also Rumours that Carlos Tevez is unable to play for the rest of the season have been quashed as there was never a question as to whether Tevez's registration had been ratified with the league and he will face Wigan tonight.

Let's hope the players repay the let off by getting results needed in the final 3 games to stay up.

I have maintained throughout this ordeal that we would not get a points deduction and we haven't - phew!

Fine not points likely

Maybe Dave will put more credence in the Times :)

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/tottenham/article1712085.ece

West Ham United are likely to be found guilty and fined when an FA Premier League inquiry announces its verdict today on charges that they acted improperly and withheld vital documentation in the transfers of Carlos Tévez and Javier Mascherano.

The club vigorously defended charges during a hearing in London that lasted just a few hours yesterday and are likely to escape a points deduction.

Jim Sturman, QC, argued before a three-man independent panel that the club were not influenced by Kia Joorabchian, the businessman who owned the rights of the Argentina players, and could have moved them on when he wanted. The club, however, failed to provide relevant documentation for the transfers in August

Relegated without kicking another ball?

I know this has been hanging over our head for a while and this is currently only paper talk but the Daily Express is claiming to have seen evidence and statements. Depressing to think that the 12 points from our last 6 games and any future heroics might be in vain...

from http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/5221

WEST HAM are set to be found guilty of fielding two ineligible players and hiding incriminating documents from the Premier League, according to evidence and statements seen by the Daily Express.

Guilty verdicts on the two serious charges relating to third-party ownership of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano will be a mere formality at the two-day hearing to be held at the end of this week, with points deduction a real threat and the only question remaining the severity of West Ham’s punishment.

Although an appeal is inevitable if points are docked, the Hammers could be effectively relegated by the outcome of the disciplinary hearing before a ball is kicked in this weekend’s key game against Wigan.

Inside information has been passed on to us about how West Ham held back documentation to the Premier League.

A Premier League source told me: “There are two very serious charges and in my view there is powerful evidence against West Ham, but of course the commission will decide. There is no doubt that the charges are so serious that points deductions cannot be ruled out.”

BUM

1-4

Need to win our next 3 games then hope. I think the writings on the wall and in truth probably has been for some time. :-(

Still mathmatically possible and you will always have hope when that is the case.

I feel a bit sad that we're going to see players like Tevez, Yossi & Neill (who has been fantastic the last few weeks) leave.

There is still hope!

I know you don't think it but there is. Not much has changed since before the weekend. Charlton lost and Wigan drew. If we were to take 4 or 6 points in our next 2 games then it is all back on. Fulham will be lucky if they pick up another point this season and Wigan and Charlton have a rough run of games. I know things didn't happen at the weekend but it wasn't from lack of endeavour. Personally I thought the effort rate was up there and had some of our early chances been capitalised on then it would've been a different game. The 3-0 scoreline was very flattering to Sheffield United and that gives me hope that we will go into the next game with our chins held up high. If we win 3 out of our final 5 games then the odds are we'll stay up - there is hope fellas - don't give up now!

This weekend's do or die clash at Sheff Utd is live on foxtel @ 11.55pm this Saturday 14th April.

I wont be out this weekend as I've had quite a full on week and need to stay at home & support my family but I will be cheering on the hammers from the comfort of my sofa. If any of you fancy it the Pig n Whistle will be showing the game for sure so go down and have another meet with the lads. Hopefully I'll be able to come out for at least one more game this season. Anyway if you want to suss out what everybody is doing - use the comments on this thread to organise yoursleves.

We had a huge support at the pig n whistle last week for the win against the gooners and I expect you'll all be itching to get out there and cheer on the lads again!

Also the Chelsea game will be televised on fox this Thursday morning - kick off 4:45am.

Faith?

If you look back over the comments on previous articles on this site you see that somebody or many questioned my faith. I recall stating that if we won our next 3 games I would start to beleive we could survive. Well since that disapointing 3-4 defeat against those shitty yids we have now won our last 3 games including an astonishing win at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

I have faith - misguided maybe - but I sincerely do have faith. Come on you rip roaring goal scoring hammers!

Hammers 2 - 0 Boro

Two victories on the bounce! Too late? We'll have to wait and see. To me the next 2 games are critical. Arsenal next week and they are not on good form - a gutsy performance from us could see an upset but we will have to work for it. Then 3 points vs Sheffield United is the most important 3 points of the season.

Back to the game. A very accomplished performance - perhaps the most assured performance of the season. No players really to critisise - stand out players for me were Noble, Tevez & Zamora. Zamora's 2nd minute opener smashed into the bottom corner after some great work by Tevez down the wing set the game up for West Ham to dominate. A hatful of chances went begging until Tevez picked up the spills in the 6 yard box in the 43rd minute to smash a hole in the net to make it 2-0.

There is hope, however slight - it is there! Bring on the gooners!
